So pretty much this be the new game in the alien franchise. What I know so far is that its roots will be similar to amnesia *shivers* where you ain't gotta gun as far as I know. you have one scary ass stalker of an alien that is 10 time worse then the others in teh series, and you gotta escape a space station while keeping out of sight, making little or no noise at all and hiding in teh corner like a coward cause its scaring the crud out of you. I may be over exaggerating here, but from what zoomingames says. I already am tense from teh vid, and cause I absolutely enjoyed/crapped my pants (figuratively, just cried under my bed mostly) in amnesia. ._. So here is some stuffs to jumble up an opinion for yourselfs.

As old as it is, the first Alien movie was one of the few pieces of entertainment that managed to truly scare the crap out of me - as in genuine, undiluted fright, not just the random jump scare.

Considering that this game uses that same concept - fear of the dark and the unknown, constant tension, knowledge that there's this horrid and unseen thing lurking in the shadows and ready to pounce on you at any moment - I expect a successful game, unless the developers are mor0ns and repeat the same mistakes of Colonial Marines.

...that said, I don't know if I'll have the guts to try it. :P

I'll admit it does look pretty interesting. a game where you survive...without guns and how the alien actively hunts you should be some good scares but the last few games have been terrible lol so the track record is against it but guess we're gonna have to wait and see

I find it amazing how Xenos can be both awesome pulse rifle fodder while in hordes, and yet a single one can be terrifying as hell.

I've learned my lesson from Colonial Marines. While this game does look promising, I'm not even going to touch it until I see some favorable reviews and solid gameplay footage first. So here's hoping that these guys pull it off and make a rare success for the Aliens franchise, whilst showing Gearbox what true devotion to the source material looks like.

This is a better horror game than Outlast. While I was skeptical at first, this game truly is a proper survival horror. Also, the alien's AI is unpredictable during later sections in the game, making for a lot of naturally occurring nerve-racking and tense moments. A Gamasutra article just got published talking about this very system. It's the unpredictability that gets you. Trust me, I've died a bunch of times because of it.

This game's also gorgeous. The devs apparently wanted to recreate the Alien movie's aesthetic down to the last sweat drop on the nervous wrecks that comprise this game's surviving humans. Seriously, everyone is very sweaty at all times. Personally, I think it's unhealthy to masturbate so frequently. While they look like they're made of wax, the rest of the game's aesthetic seems borderline photorealistic at times.

The only downsides I can think of are the animations, which are shitty and awkward, and the protagonist's voice actress seems to have phoned in her performance. Some of the shit Ripley says is cringeworthy because the woman voicing her doesn't know how to sound fucking intimidating or commanding.

I highly recommend this game to any horror fans. Don't be intimidated by its recommended system requirements. My computer doesn't meet them yet I can still play on near highest settings at 60+ fps.

Final verdict: Urine stains/10

I like to think Randy Pitchford faps himself to sleep every night with tears in his eyes since the game's release, watching the series be NTR'd from him.

I haven't got the game yet so I'll have to be content with walkthroughs for now. This game seems to be really promising and I'll be looking forward to the day I get my hands on this.

Good or bad reviews I'm picking it up on payday. I've been a fan of the series for years and this looks exciting.

hmm from what i seen on twitch steamers they just say the first few hours were fun and it just starts getting the same near the final hours of the game

This game is pretty polarizing now, but I seriously doubt rational people will look back on it and say it was any worse than the top horror games that preceded it.

This is one of those few cases where the season pass might actually be a really tremendous addition. They're probably soaking in the feedback about how terribly long the game is, so the next little nugget will probably be the same formula with the correct amount of pacing.
