Agreed, reminded me of something Yuna might use.

Firstly, +rep. Nice work, Fate brother.

Secondly, I have to say I think it's a staff too. If you look closely there's an odd loop on the pole of the weapon near the tip that would make it a very unbalanced lance. It's not her tail, either.

Pretty good deal for getting a hardcopy of it. Totally spending bucks on this.

I've searched through a few sites. No updates or signs of pre-ordering.

Great work, mate! You have a link? I'll pop this up on the OP as soon as a few sites catch on.

And hell yes for Limited Edition.

What would an interview with Rin be like? Wonder what she has to say about the game.

Who knows curious as well, but I can wait to find out.
I already made my preorder and that extra bonus at gamestop is online order only forgot to mention that hopefully nobody came to any problems about it and actually checked the site for details before ordering and not entirely sure, but from the looks of it that extra bonus may actually come with the regular edition as well for those who order online, so regular buyers are getting something extra besides the game.

Also from the looks of it the game is #1 top selling psp on gamestop right now as you can see here.
I'm hoping it sells well enough for the that second one to come as well.

Doesn't say anything about the soundtrack...Is the pre-order ONLY online? There's like a Gamestop right next to where I live.

Ah, no worries, mate. I just checked and the limited edition is able to be pre-ordered IN-store as well as online, along with the regular addition. That means all the nifty stuff that comes with the limited edition is definitely coming with your in-store pre-order of the limited edition (though if you want the LE you really should pre-order ASAP since each store only gets a limited quantity of niche titles like these).

"Fate/The Fact" (the bonus magazine/interview thing that has an interview with the character Rin and details the Fate universe) is what we're talking about. That's supposedly online only, but according to the employee at my local store they said you'd likely get it with your in-store pre-ordered copy anyway since, quote, "That would be confusing to customers otherwise."

When you go to pre-order your copy of the limited edition at your local Gamestop, just make sure with them and see if the bonus magazine that's detailed on the link in the OP is definitely coming to you if you pre-order in-store. (Some employees get the facts wrong)

But yes, no matter what, you'll get your limited edition goodies wherever you pre-order. Hope that helps!

Same here! Fate fans are in a abundance in comparison to your average VN fan, but it's still a niche market. Aksys Games is even more niche than Atlus U.S.A, so there's a good chance we'll be getting an official translation of Fate/ExtraCCC. It might take another year after the Japanese launch, but it's a possibility. As long as we do our part that's all we can hope for.

I did recheck, and according to Sankaku it IS ONLINE PRE-ORDER ONLY.
Fucking Gamestop employees. Better get my money back.

As a constellation prize, here's the authentic cover of what's to be expected if you pre-order the game online with Gamestop:

Just saw this article:
http://www.siliconera.com/2011/09/20/pre-order-fateextra-from-gamestop-for-a-special-fatethe-fact-booklet/

The magazine pre-order bonus is ONLY online. The limited edition and the OST&artbook that comes with it, however, can be pre-ordered in a retail store or online.

This is actually a psp game I'm contemplating buying...depending on my financial situation of course haha. Usually I'd just download the ISO, but for Fate/Extra I might just make an exception, might improve chances of the sequel getting a stateside release too, once it's out of course, and god willing it doesn't just not get here in time for the psp's lifespan.

Actually the PSP still has a bit of life left in it. Aside from Persona 2, Fate/Extra, and Fate/ExtraCCC, you also have God Easter 2 which will be out on both PSP and Vita as well as Black Rock Shooter: The Game (courtesy of NIS America) which has been rumored to be coming with a limited edition exactly like the Japanese one (artbook, OST, and figure included).
-Persona 2 is out now.
-Fate/Extra will be (yay!).
-God Eater 2 will very likely get a Western release after it launches in Japan.
-Black Rock Shooter is definitely getting a release, but with an unspecified date (hope NIS goes for the limited edition, too).

Folks are going for the Vita, true, but there's still some great and even popular stuff going for the PSP, and if Extra does well then CCC can plausibly get a release over here too. It's just up to us Fate/ Fans to support the release.

Already got fate/ulimited codes (haven't played it yet) so I'll definitely pick this one up (and the sequel).

Translation update from Aksys via Siliconera: This one is about the difficulties of trying to translate a Nasu-written story, especially when he loves to use the dreaded Furigana...
Link: http://www.siliconera.com/2011/10/04/an-example-of-how-type-moons-fateextra-was-a-challenge-to-localize/

Excerpt:
He elaborates: “First a quick Japanese lesson: to help younger readers grasp kanji, the reading(s) for particularly difficult kanji is written in above it/them in either hiragana or katakana. The technical term for this furigana, and Fate/Extra used A LOT of furigana. However, instead of simply using it to indicate the reading for a given Japanese character, the furigana was used to piggy-back an additional idea onto another sentence.

“For example (the furigana is in italics):

hobby cat juggling

My name is Mike02."

----
To me that just blows my mind. Furigana would be considered atrocious writing in English (and for numerous, obvious reasons), but it seems to be really clever in Japanese culture. Talk about a cultural divide!

I have a lot of respect for Aksys after reading this article. Hopefully everything translated well, but if a few bits are somewhat off I can let it slide considering the original author's writing style.

New interview with lead Aksys Games translator for Fate/Extra just in!

Link: http://www.siliconera.com/2011/10/07/aksys-answer-your-fateextra-questions-part-1/

A lot of good questions are answered this time around, and as usual with the Aksys crew, a handful of snark is sprinkled in there for kicks.
