Yea this is why I don't play ranked. It often devolves into a pissing contest between people. Also being unranked I think is better than being bronze at the very least. Unranked just means you don't care enough, Bronze means you're pretty dang bad to be put into the lowest rank.

The most important button in ranked games is not the R button, it is the ignore button. Without it, you won't survive
