Monster Hunter Generations

It's coming this summer in the west. In Japan it's Monster Hunter X/Cross.

If you have save data for 4U, you'll get special DLC.

Anyone else hyped for this? I got the demo early from the E3 Humble Bundle pack and have eagerly been anticipating the official release on the 15th.

Honestly I am a bit surprised by how much better things look even on the same engine as 4U. Some of the Hunting Arts are a bit silly, but ultimately they really don't seem out of place in the series since brutal realism has never been Monster Hunter's thing.

Aerial bow is pretty fun and I think I will be maining that this time around since I have never really done much gunning before. I picked bow up briefly in the postgame of 4U, but it really seemed limited since you essentially just ran around doing charge shots. Having a pretty looking dodge that can help with mounting and a special move slot has really added the extra splash of fun that the bow needed in my opinion. Plus there is a hunting art that makes it to where your arrows are capable of cutting tails!

I can't wait for this game either! I've been playing a ton of MH4U lately as a way of prepping and because I haven't finished it yet. My brother may be getting it as well. I played the demo too and the arts are interesting, but probably will just take time for me to adjust to them. I tend to main switch axe, but also play with the great sword and long sword from time to time.

And it does look really pretty with some nice new particle effects.

I have been on a bunch too, mainly trying to get a decent Dragon Bow relic simply because it looks pretty and I need to get better at bow. I am getting tired of rajang and yian garuga GQs though since randoms keep carting on the garuga and rajang is just a huge pain, especially in higher level GQs. Let me know if you need a hunting buddy before or after Generations comes out, I'd totally be down to play.

I mained LS in MH3U, but then switched to SnS in 4U for most of the game. I do have some sets for GS and LS though, and have come to totally love the switch axe after making a set I read about on Reddit.

You Life hone Baraq Sedition (the seregios SA) and can get Fleet Feet, AuL and Razor Sharp just with the armor and one slot left over.

- Miralis Diadem
- Sororal Mail
- Esuriant Vambraces Z
- Esurient Faulds Z
- Sororal Greaves

With my tali I run AuL, Critical Eye +2, Razor Sharp, Fleet Feet and Latent Power +1 with it.
The life hone helps keep you topped off to use the Peak Performance boost from Fleet Feet while the Evade Extender portion lets you go places. Since its a seregios weapon it is self-sharpening when you roll and Razor Sharp makes your purple sliver last. Essentially, you end up with a set that allows you to do pretty awesome raw and never use any items on most fights. Also it looks beautiful, especially dyed purple.

If I manage to get a good enough bow relic sometime soon I want to make a fun Sororal based bow set with Focus, Fleet Feet, Trajectory and whatever else I can magic onto it. I saw a girl online a few days ago running a variation and it looked like it would be quite fun.

I haven't heard of that set and haven't seen it on the list, but I've also only gotten through a part caravan 6 and working on 4-star guild. I will definitely refer to your as I make progress into the later game!

Yeah, the stuff I posted is a G-rank mixed set. You need to be finished with Caravan and at least G3 to get the pieces. Ah well.

We shall be closer rank in Generations once it comes out! But if you ever want help in 4U, even with newbie stuff, I have lower rank sets so I can play with people and not ruin everyones fun by just carrying them super hard. Also the online community gets better at G-rank. People in clowsuits with no skills are far less likely to enter your hall and post their own quests to beg (but it does happen).

Edit: Well now Generations is out. Off to not be a scrub in that and acquire some decent gear

Having no decent green sharpness weapons makes me rethink my life choices sometimes ^^;

I find it kinda odd I'm still stuck using the same GS I started with, only upgraded up to Lvl 5 just because it has a gigantic green sharpness rating.

Yeah, I feel ya there. I have been working on a few different weapon trees hoping that something decent will emerge, but no. Finding a good weapon at low rank is just not a thing I guess. I'm just barely HR2, but have not really done much online. Finally got a focus set for my bow and am continuing to slog through village, although I am now past most of the mind-numbing quests and into village 4 where I feel like I am doing stuff.

Happy hunting y'all!

The other thing is I'm stuck in Tetsucabra armor for a good while now. I'd like to make the Narga set but Remobras don't show up until Village 5 or Guild 3... Guess I'll have to raise my HR for now I suppose.

I'm stoked. I'm kind of a newbie still having only played mh4 but I am all in for this franchise.
