Looks like they're returning to the roots.
This time Criterion Games (Burnout Series) is making the game.

Hopefully they fixed the dumb physics from the earlier versions.

What were wrong with the physics? It was completely fine.

Yeah, nothing was wrong with the physics, it was mostly the issue of the graphics and the driving gameplay.

Anyways, a technical reboot the the classic. Looks good too.

Watching.

finally they got it in their heads that pursuits/cop chases was one of the compelling reasons one plays need for speed in the first place.

And wild race ...

Looking forward to this game if that's the case ...

I was talking about how the cop cars can outperform your car, how they can't be budged at all but can still push you around, and how spike strips have no effect even though they ran over them.

the cop cars are always made to outperform your car because if your car is alot better than theirs, there is no other way to catch up is there?
AI hasnt become that complex in video games to plot pit maneuvers etc

The spike strip one is the same reason.

It has nothing to do with physics, rather they are intentional

I still think it's cheap, especially the second and third things I mentioned. It becomes even more so when you do the challenges and they bump you around like your in a go-kart even though you're driving a dump truck. Add to that the random invisible walls you run into every now and then and then there's the "rubber-band effect" that ruin most every race.

Kind of funny how those cops afford their rides when they'll be totaled later. A Gallardo for a police cruiser? I have seen one somewhere in europe using a lambo as a cop's car though.

But then again, it's just a game. Good to see EA finally getting their reputation back.

I'm getting it. recently reinstalled "Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2" :P
It certainly going to beat Pro Street and Shift. I kind of hate realistic *cough* driving games.

Belgium also has fast cars :p
