New 3DS
Comapred to old 3DS
Well not sure how many seen, but Nintendo announced today they will be releasing the New 3DS. And no nothing say it is just a new 3DS but that is the the name "New 3DS." Seriously they seem to be terrible at naming things lol.

Any thoughts on new handheld or any issues you foresee?

That is very confusing. I wonder how many returns will occur because of the name "new" in it.

Looks cool and all but I didn't get a 3DS until just last year so I'm gonna wait before I even think about getting that. At least until it gets some exclusive games or something.

Only Xenoblade Chronicles is confirmed for now.

I honestly don't want it to get "too many" awesome exclusives though, since Nintendo still doesn't want to make an account system where I can redownload bought games and can't sell my 3DS because it has some games on it.

Is it still region locked? If so then Nintendo can fuck off.

I hope this is somehow true. I'd definitely buy a New 3DS if they get rid of the region-lock.

I wounder if I can use my 3DS games for the new 3DS? I mean looks like the same type of slot. If so I might consider buying the New 3DS sooner rather than later whenever it comes to America.

And it never actually said that previous titles can still be used for it. It says they moved game slot to bottom and that exclusive titles were in the works for it.

But it talks about games like Final Fantasy Explorers and Super Smash Bros. 4, which are coming out for 3DS.

Edit: Dammit Nintendo.

It's like they're fucking retarded. I love how they try to defend it.

After seeing the "New 3DS", I thought that Nintendo should added that from the start when the first model came out. I knew that Nintendo messed up when they released a new accessory called the "Circle Pad Pro" to enable the users to play games with out the hassling of using the in game directional pad or using the stylus. Since the New 3DS has been announced, I see some improvements in the external memory slot. Instead of having a big SD card, Nintendo added a micro SD slot which should had been from the start. Overall, I think the New 3DS is a okay product.

So, we're finally getting a 3DS with an extra set of triggers and a second circle pad? About damn time! Even though that second "circle pad" is more of a tiny nub and I'm not too confident in how comfortable ZL/ZR will be in that position, I'm happy.

However, I am concerned about it being stronger. It's not technically a new system all together, but it is stronger than the original 3DS/XL/2DS and it'll have exclusive games that use that extra power. Xenoblade Chronicles was already announced alongside the New 3DS, but how many other companies will jump ship and start making games that benefit from that increased power? I don't mind if there's maybe a game or two per year, but I feel like we'll all eventually have to upgrade to continue playing "3DS" games, which some people won't agree with.

This also can't be helpful when it comes to parents. What if somebody buys their child a 3DS because it's a little cheaper than a "New 3DS", but then proceeds to buy them games that only work on the newer model? I love Nintendo to death, but they seriously need to get better at naming their stuff.

The best part of this news? The changeable covers! Oh, man! Now I can simply buy a cheap replacement cover and completely change the look of my 3DS and I can even import covers from Japan, instead of them always getting the best exclusive special additions. I can't begin to explain how excited I am for those covers!

At first I thought it was cool, until I figured out that some games will require you to have it. So you'll have to buy another system entirely.

Reminds me of the DSi.

Still got my first ds... Now have 3ds xl. Hope they don't change the charger plug. Cause I have about 4 ds charger from original to lite, to dsi, then 3ds & 3ds xl.
