Speculations?

I don't have any speculations, just that I am glad they stopped the weird naming conventino were using and jumped to other nice, and easy to remember names.

Red & Blue (& Yellow) was ok.

Silver & Gold was ok.

After that point I lost track due to the weird names... and I actually lost interest on the franchise. However, I might give it another shot when Sun & Moon come out.

Speculation? What else other than same shit, different game. Featuring pokemon-amie, super training, expanded mega evolution and the other shit that became standard after X/Y came out.

Lunatone and Solrock get megas and become legendary

I consider myself a gamer, but I can admit that I'm fukn casul- so I wish the series would give a single player that's worth a damn. I heard DPPT was great, but for some reason Gen4 has failed to hook me like all the rest of the series. Perhaps just bad timing for when it came out vs. my current life situation at the time.

I've heard a lot of complaints that- at cost of balancing Dragon- Fairy became the new "OP plz nerf" for the metagame. So I'm thinking maybe get rid of it's Bug resistance (because as freaking if Bug needed a nerf in offense) at the very least.

Maybe we'll finally get a Dark-type gym.

Pokemon Black and White had the best single player content (including story, music, characters, etc. etc.) in my opinion, probably the funnest meta-game too. Black 2 and White also offered more end-game content but unfortunately Nintendo doesn't offer the online features so getting the good stuff is near impossible unless you cheat in the end (Pokemon World Tournament and super strong trainers hanging out around Black City).

Fairy is a bit OP, since it counters dragons, the old OP and common meta-game types like fighting and dark. BUT it's weak to Poison + Steel and resisted by both & fire types. It wasn't the perfect fix because it could have been a chance to give bug types more utility but still a much needed fix.

Out of curiosity, what's your usual lineup for meta? Lessay in OU?

Im only intrested in it to see what kind of new pokemon come up. Something intresting or something from beating a dead horse.

Otherwise, i do not care.

I say it's about damn time, ORAS was fun and all, but it was just a 3d remake of the original R/S games with some slight additions. Whatever the case with these new games, i hope to christ they bring back character customization from x/y and maybe add even more onto it (and bring back the pokemon walking aspect from HGSS). The game felt better to play when you were going as someone you made, rather than some predetermined tween. Also, making the games a bit longer would be nice, i plowed my way through x/y and oras extremely fast.

Gonna be completely honest with you, ~90% of the stuff I use is straight out of this silly thing on 8/4chan where people make usuable but bad or unpredictable movesets. My original showdown team usually consist of one or more of the following:
M.Charzard X (Maybe Y when I want a sun Team with Venasaur), Clefable, Latios, Smufleaf, Aegislash(RIP), Gengar, Scolipede and Rotom Wash.
Obviously not all of these together though, since it would be an unbalanced team.

I'll probably get one of the games eventually but not launch day. Also I was a little meh about the naming scheme since Sun and Moon have been done before in the past by other franchises. Maybe it's unfair but I hold Pokemon to a slightly higher standard.

@623

I genuinely don't care if Digimon did the naming scheme first. Mega-evolutions and now the speculation thing are taken out of Digimon too.

Also speculation time.

Human-Pokemon evolutions. If anyone keeps up with the anime you know about Ash's Frogedier/Greninja and how there's pictures of him with a strange form where he resembles ash. Well in the manga that's an actual thing and the crystal used for this transformation happens to be in the logo.

FYI this isn't my observation so don't call me a crazy nut. But it'd be weird if that were the case.

Nah, Fairy isn't overpowered. The very small amount of usable ones limits how effective they are. Dark is overpowered, thanks to Steel losing its resistance to the type and the super buffed Knock Off. The only overpowered Fairy is Deer God (and Arceus-Fairy, I guess), and that's banished to Ubers, where it's relatively easy to play around if you aren't facing a really skilled opponent. Anyone that complains about the type is probably used to using 6 Dragons, since the only true counter to that in gen 5 was 6 Steels.

I really haven't followed the Pokemon meta after ORAS came out. I wanted to play Pokemon on a more serious level, but after grinding out for breeding, it got kinda stale for me. Other than that, actually battling with them was real fun.

If anything, I should hop back on Smogon and see what's up with OU again.

I was a pokemon maniac back when I was still a kid. I thought I grew out of those types of games, at least until Persona came along.

Normally go with the grass starter (except Chikorita) but I think this gen I'll go with the fire cat like everyone else.

This might be the first time in my life where I don't go with the Water Starter Pokemon. A Sea Lion? Really guys? I hope the final evolution doesn't look clownish for it, otherwise, I'd switch to the Grass Starter.

I'm not liking the way any of the new starters look. I think I will go with the grass one because it is the one that looks the least dumb to me. Those legendaries look amazing though. I'm gonna have to trade to get both of them.

I hope that the story and characters are better than X/Y. I hated everything about the story and characters for those games.
