Recommend PS3 game (preferably good jrpg)

0
So, I just got some money I can spend on games for my birthday (which is in 3 days, 8th of Jan ftr), so I'm trying to figure out what to get. Any sort of game you think is good is fine, but since I just played through Eternal Sonata once and kind of liked it, I'm interested in playing some more jrpg's, preferably one with less-than-repetitive gameplay and good story.

I also want to play something as soon as possible, so a game that is already out or one that is coming within a month would be nice.

Resonance of Fate.

The only jrpg I know of that's new and is pretty decent. Asking for "less-than-repetitive" gameplay from an rpg is fucked up, bro.

Heard Resonance of Fate got some wavering reviews though, more ppl that has played this and can actually say it is good?

And you speak the truth, but some are better than other at least.

673 users on gamespot have their votes averaged out as an 8.3. Gamespot says it's an 8.5, but I don't trust any individual reviews/ratings - especially those made by organizations like gamespot - on shit. The people hath spoken, and they think it's decent. Watch gameplay videos of it.

Also, Demon's Souls is all right in the first play through, but then it's just fucking ridiculous. The game also has no music when you go around stabbing shit making it pretty fucking boring with all the stab-dodge-stab-dodge shit you'll be doing.

Mainly heard people complaining about how the battle system is pretty fucked up and also that it has lots of sudden spikes in difficulty that makes the game almost unplayable unless you constantly focus on grinding from the start =/

And Kaimax; are all those games you believe is good, or did you just list all the games you could quickly remember the names of?

Already got VC and Demon's Souls.

The only ones that I have played is Valkyria Chronicles, Which is indeed Masterpiece level, and Star Ocean IV.

The rest are lists that I have found in other game forums, I just listed based on how many people recommended it.
Basically things on the list are the most recommended by many people. (this also includes Eternal sonata and Resonance of Fate)

Resonance of Fate is an awesome game! There's alot of people saying that it is way too hard, but I don't agree; you just have to learn to adjust to the battle you're currently playing such. Learn by doing you know? But yeah, Resonance of Fate is awesome.

If you know enough Japanese, I'd highly recommend Tales of Vesperia, I'm on my third run on the 360. Resonance of Fate has really cool artwork, but i couldn't get into the story at all, cool combat system too. I didn't play star ocean enough but it looks good enough for mr to try on the 360. And already have VC. Good game as well.

Kaimax pretty has pretty much all of the good jrpg's in that list but in addition to those you could also check out:

Cross Edge
Trinity Universe
Record of Agarest War
Atelier Rorona: the Alchemist of Arland

Also, even though you probably wouldn't count it as a jrpg, I heavily recommend Nier, it's a brilliant game with good characters, good music and a good story!!

The only one that I haven't seen mentioned that might be good is Eternal Sonata. Beautiful music, but the story may make your brain hurt a bit. But if you understand it, it's a very deep and meaningful game, which it was for me. One of my top recommendations, if your willing to sacrifice some of your sanity :)

That's what separates the boys from the men. New Game + is the TRUE Demon's Soul experience.

It all depends on whos playing, half the games I play are rated like 7 or below on gamespot but I still absolutely love them. Jrpg's are also often given exceptionally low scores by similar organizations and stupid repedative games with virtually no story line like Call of duty consistently get high scores.
