Tales of Xillia

Yes, this made my day! I'm hoping they either do a good job with the English VAs or just include dual audio.

Dual audio is never an option with Bamco :V I just hope they don't recycle VAs AGAIN -_- I've heard enough of Christina V and Laura Bailey...

PS Link Artes are fucking addicting

Lol, I doubt that, that's one of the reason why I don't like dubs, and rather import the Japanese one.

Not saying that the VAs are bad, but the recycling and overusing that I don't like.

New Trailer

It shows off some more combat gameplay and explains a little bit about how the debt system works.

Basically, Ludger owes 20,000,000 gald and has to pay it off.

The GHS system keeps track of debtors and restrict what parts of Elenpios they can visit. If you want to expand where Ludger can travel you have to give money to Nova, one of Ludger’s classmates who works at the loan office.

Tales f is coming soon here where I live but I'm skipping it and wait for Xillia instead.

Unless your short on money, you should try Graces f. The combat is really fun. I didn't particularly like the dub though. I wish they would've had a Japanese voice option.

Heard about this before and looking forward to it a lot. I already have Graces F and finished the main story, future arc, the new game+, but still doing the EX Dungeon

I need to get my ass to finally finish Tales of Xillia...
This trailer shows it's animation and Ayumi Hamasaki is doing the OP song again.

I hope Rutee is also a challenger, in the arena, as well since she makes a cameo appearance in the game

Finally a real "cameo", was kinda disappointed that there were "none" from the 1st game, and the Colosseum is not used.

Man, 2013 is so far away...Might as well wait patiently for Xillia to be released.

I'm so new to this franchise.

I recently finished Tales of Graces f which was my first "real" Tales Of game and I quite enjoyed it (still have lots of hours to spend on it). I had already watched the Xillia trailer a long time ago but rewatching it now after completing TOG made me realize how fucking sick this looks.

Can't wait for the english release.

And for those who actually played both games, what are the changes in the battle system?

First Trailer for NA EU Localization.

However, like all other Tales games, this game has been confirmed that it will not have Dual Audio.

They seem really adamant about not having the native voice option.

Although it may not be a complete deal-breaker with the loss of Japanese VOs, I'm grateful enough we're seeing a NA Localization. Worse comes to worse, it can't be as bad as Graces f was.

Hate to break it to you... Tales of Xillia

It annoys me greatly when games like this don't have dual audio. Also, I hated Graces F's English dub. I thought Pascal sounded terrible and I hated the way she spoke. I didn't think Vesperia's dub was terrible though.

Looks like I got to hurry up and wrap up Tales of Graces f soon before this comes out. Going to be looking forward to this.

I'm not sure what's the gripe towards the English dub of the recent Tales of localizations, especially Graces f, I thought to an extent they were good enough. Pascal sounded cute enough in my opinion, but then again, Abyss was probably the best English dubbed Tales of we've heard and that was a 2006 PS2 game. We got to remember that some of these Japanese developers can't really cater to our needs to for choosing between English and Japanese, save for JIS and others I may not know of, and Namco Bandai was never really a company to offer us that choice except in their Tekken franchise. All of their games must get the English dub treatment, no matter how good or bad it may seems to some people.

Huge game I'm still waiting for on the PS3. I thoroughly enjoyed Graces f.

The issue is that, when they're dubbing games rather than leaving the original audio with subtitles --which they already are implementing for hearing impaired players-- it takes more time, and if I'm not mistaken more money to pay for dubbing, and track swapping/editing.

But this was is what they've said;

"Tales of Xillia includes the English dub, but not Japanese track. We offer our apology to the fans who were waiting for this feature, but we have been forced to make this difficult choice in order to devote our resources to critical issues which directly impact the development of the entire series Tales of the EMEA territories"

Think of it this way, when I played Crisis Core in English, and got to the ending I thought
"Man, they did the voices pretty well."

Then I played it again and watched the ending in Japanese and thought

"Nevermind, what the hell was I thinking before..."

I don't want to sound like one of those people that believe Japanese audio is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but the original audio is typically the best. Great adaptations of dubs in general include the DMC series, and Cowboy Bebop the anime(coming off the top of my head).

You don't watch an English dub of a Chinese martial arts movie, it's hilarious. It's the whole issue of what's lost through translation. The Japanese language has different body language and mannerisms.

When I was younger, a decade maybe ago, I bought .hack/infection with my brother, and beat the game. About 2 years ago I beat it again, but I discovered the Japanese Audio option, and I felt like I was playing a completely different game. I appreciated the characters voices more.

Dubbing was never a 'buy the game or leave it' deal for me though. I choose whether or not to support the company, and a little bad voicing never ruined anything(other than DmC..) for me.

Also, Namco Bandai games done quite alot of Dual Audio/Japanese Audio games in the past, and recently.

.Hack Infection/Mutation/Outbreak/Quarantine
One Piece: Pirate Warriors
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3
Project X Zone will have its Japanese Audio(Although this is understandable with it's absolutely enormous roster..)

I'm sure there's more, but that's off the top of my head.
