Looks like I got to hurry up and wrap up Tales of Graces f soon before this comes out. Going to be looking forward to this.

I'm not sure what's the gripe towards the English dub of the recent Tales of localizations, especially Graces f, I thought to an extent they were good enough. Pascal sounded cute enough in my opinion, but then again, Abyss was probably the best English dubbed Tales of we've heard and that was a 2006 PS2 game. We got to remember that some of these Japanese developers can't really cater to our needs to for choosing between English and Japanese, save for JIS and others I may not know of, and Namco Bandai was never really a company to offer us that choice except in their Tekken franchise. All of their games must get the English dub treatment, no matter how good or bad it may seems to some people.

Abyss had a terrible localization though. They removed all the voiced skits and the intro song as well. The dubs were "okay" but Tear sounded a thousand times better in Japanese. The only way to properly play that game was to download the undub version and play that instead.

I actually agree with the Japanese version of Tear, and I actually forgot about the undubbed skits in Abyss until you mentioned it.

Bad dubbing or not, at least we're still getting another new Tales of game to add to the PS3 RPG collection after its absence from Sony for so long and I'm glad for that.

I'm glad that we're getting Xillia but I just wish they'd include the Japanese audio. I like hearing the original voices more. Playing games like this in English doesn't feel quite right to me. My idea of localization is to "fuck with the original game as little as possible". That means I only really want them to translate all the text to English and not change anything else. I'll still buy it but I wish they'd start listening to some of their fans who want dual audio.... which unfortunately isn't many.

On another note, I still don't see why adding the language in as paid DLC doesn't work. It costs money to pay the Japanese VAs but wouldn't you make that money back if you priced the DLC right? Or is the demand really that little? I'd personally pay a good amount extra for the option.

Honestly, I'd rather have dual audio instead of all of that stuff. It's not a bad looking limited edition though.

Agreed, I hate sounding like an ingrate(to add insult to injury I've bought 3 of the other titles, Abyss twice, on 3DS) because it's getting a localization which is better than nothing, but honestly, this is truly the only Tales game I was praying for to have dual audio.

Sadly, I'm still buying Collector's edition regardless of audio. I still cringe at Graces f voices.

Do want. I for one haven't heard the japanese voices and since I've already played a tales completly in english I just don't mind. It just sucks that the retail price at launch here in europe is always at 69 euros

The collector's edition is coming to North America? Awesome. Though, I hope that is not only available at their online store like Ni No Kuni's. I can't buy from that store. Other than that, it's nice to know it finally has a release date, though I was expecting it sooner(it comes around the time I start college...oh well).

As for not including dual audio, I don't mind it since I don't use the Japanese VO. It would have been nice to include them, though.

That trailer was laughably sub-par. It was really cliche. I love the game, and I know I'm gonna get it, but it was just a bunch of one-liners and melodramatic moments.

I might get the Collector's Edition though... that figure. @_@

I'm glad I'm not the only one who hated Graces F's dub. What did you think of Pascal's voice? I'm probably alone on this but I personally couldn't stand it.

In my opinion.

Pascal, Hubert, Malik, and Richard's VA's are accepted. Everyone else, denied.

I didn't like most of the voices that much in general. During the skits and cut-scenes the voices just seemed so awkward, you could honestly tell they were acting out their emotions so it seemed really fake, and it really killed it for me.

It's probably because of the mannerisms and body-language. It's something that's not typical in the US, which is why it seemed to awkward. Obviously it's well-known in Japanese anime, and in some cases Japanese culture so it looks less foreign if it was in the native language.

The 'after-battle' comedic dialogues were pretty solid sometimes;

Richard, Sophie, Pascal - "Royal Crablettes"
Asbel, Sophie, Cheria - "White Clothing"
Asbel, Cheria, Hubert - "Raise in Allowance"
Asbel, Cheria, Hubert, Sophie - "STOP STOP YOU'LL STEP ON THEM"

Basically every skit with Hubert in it because they don't fit his character which is why they're so funny to me.

The only voices I did enjoy were Malik and Hubert.
"A MAN SPEAKS WITH HIS BACK!"

Goddammit... I need a PS3... Only bough the Xbox 360 because it was in my price range, both of my PS2's, my Gamecube, and my Xbox died in the months before (had nothing to play), and I wasn't going to get any money anytime soon... I feel like crying for missing out on 2 "Tales of" games now... I just know when I get one, I won't be able to find any copies... I never do till years later...
