Really wish I could have it here as well, but I am not going to buy the game twice just for the music, no matter how much I want it.

Clarify, please. You lost me.

Soundtrack is only available with the Digital Deluxe version.

I'd just like everyone to know Jane Kelly is my waifu. First come, first served, faggots. I will save scum day and night for her right to be commander's personal bitch.

Nothing.

Not owning the game maybe.

So far mixed feelings about it. Gonna wait a month.

Good choice, but when you do get it, enable the tutorial. Jane Kelly is a commander cock fiend.

She got abducted and became subject to alien tentacles in my universe.

Holy shit, Firaxis is officially worse than Bethesda. Again, this is a PC exclusive and yet this game is ridiculously broken. This is why I never play ironman; why would you ever put yourself at the mercy of Firaxis' programming competence? At this point, a feature, and not a bug, of this game is the ability to see and shoot through walls, as well as ceilings, breaking the whole ambush mechanic of the game and its general mechanical logic. Why can a turret on a roof see me on the ground and then shoot? Fuck ironman playthroughs, that's why. Save scumming sets your soul free. Let's not forget the invisible walls that exist to thwart your careful planning. At least Bethesda has the open world excuse. The only thing Firaxis has left is to claim the glitches add to the tense, challenging experience. You might be crit killed through multiple walls by a muton who spotted you through the closed door that doesn't even have windows on it. That's XCOMO, baby. Bethesda also managed to have a day one patch for Fallout 4.

In other news, Gatekeeper is master race. Dominate one of those and you're set for life.

That depends, can you tolerate enemies shooting through walls and ceilings? What if you press yourself against a wall with no windows around and you trigger a group of aliens because wallhax? Are you willing to save scum when the game defies its own logic? Would you be able to handle frequent frame drops, stutters, and sudden pauses as the game plays with its nuts for 5+ seconds, trying to figure out whose turn it is? Forget discounts, this game needs to go to the emergency room for surgery, stat.

I have mixed feelings about this game. Note:

1) I have a friend who loves the franchise and has played every XCOM and is playing XCOM2 like his life goes at it.

2) I have seen third party critics give it high ratings and marks, but that does not convince me.

3) On the other hand, I have seen a few people (not specifically in this topic, just in case Rbz feels I am speaking about him xD) strongly dislike this installment.

4) I have not been exposed that much to XCOM franchise, until recently (with XCOM2). I have been reading everything about it and seems like XCOM2 is my type of game (specially those 84% hit = Missed! as in Fire Emblem lol).

So, can someone point out an "objective" opinion? I mean, objectively speaking about the good and bad things of XCOM2, not just saying "I like/love it" (like my friend) or "I hate this shit" (like some people I have read over the internet).

Objective facts about this game: it is poorly optimized and buggy, as can be attested to by pretty much everyone who plays it. Anyone who dismisses or denies this reality is a corporate cock gobbling cum vacuum who needs to be suffocated by a berserker's balls (objectively opinionated opinion). It lacks controller support for everything except steam controllers. Firaxis has not distributed a patch and it has been a week since the game was officially released. A lot of this game's missions have turn timers. UFO missions have 6 turns after you lose cover. Evac missions have 12 turns. The rest have 8 turns. Retaliation missions, (i.e., terror missions), have an implicit timer that depends on resistance deaths. Defense missions have a life timer, where if the thing you need to defend is destroyed, you fail. Supply raids, project sites, and some main missions don't have limits. (Note: all turn timer information is based on commander difficulty; it's probably the same for all others.) The strategic part of the game is played against a timer as well, where if you allow the avatar project to complete, you're fucked. There are at least 3 ways to prevent its progression, but that's for you to find out. XCOMO has more enemy variety, items, and customizations options than EU/EW. The mechanics have been altered compared to its predecessor as well. Reloading doesn't end your turn, you can use stealth for ambushes, and you can hack robotic enemies as well as certain electronics for potential benefits.

That's the most objective objectivity you can ever hope to get.

Objectively speaking Xcom EW was extremely simplified game compared to original xcoms and Xenonauts (true modern successor), it wasn't bad game on it's own but lacked strategic depth (you can always finish every research, project and building way before endgame) after all by end game your single soldier was capable of doing missions on his own.
Xcom2 decided that they won't try to fix what was wrong with EW and just added timers instead, extremely poor execution that's completely against spirit of xcom.
Other stuff that Rbz said that are against tile based games is just adding to that poor game.

Obviously game might get super reviews from players ("journalist"'s and youtubers reviews are worthless and paid) because modern players play games so watered down that these games seems like pinnacle of challenge while they're tactical joke.

Got my game yesterday. Haven't had any real problems so far. The loading times are as huge as they say, though. But other than that, I've only seen some graphics stutters and that's mainly because I'm running this quite a bit above the recommended settings for my rather weak computer here (in fact, GeForce Experience tells me my system does not meet the minimum requirements for their extremely limited optimized settings).

On team, and added to character pool for future use without needing to lose people to the tutorial.
