Shamo 6/10

The gritty Karate Kid reboot Hollywood needs. Some of the arcs were kinda stupid and the ending didn't resolve much for most of the characters but the first couple arcs are awesome and a must read for people who are into villain protagonists and the deconstruction genre.

Hito Hitori Futari - 8/10

Good story overall, but I have mixed feelings about the villain's fate, though to be fair, fate dealt them a significantly shitty hand.

It's actually been a while since I 'finished' a manga, since all the ones I keep up with currently have either been running a while or just barely began.

In that case, the most recent one I fished was Boku dake ga inai machi or 'The town where only I am missing'.

Filthy cashuls probably know it by the name 'ERASED'.

KakuKaku Shikajika: 8/10

Nijigahara Holograph: 7/10

What A Wonderful World: 7/10

Solanin: 6.5/10

And now I have read all of Asano Inio's bigger works, yay! (Caught up with DDDDDDD! as well)

Oldboy: 6/10. The Manga that partly inspired the second and most well-known installment of Park Chan-wook's Vengeance Trilogy. Oldboy the film is good, but I prefer the last film, Sympathy for Lady Vengeance.

The Manga takes an interesting premise and runs with it, but seems to get tired shortly after. Also, maybe I just know too much psychology, but the hypnosis aspect of the plot just annoys me.

Crying Freeman: 7/10. In which the legendary writer of Lone Wolf and Cub indulges himself a little by writing a story about an assassin who cries when he kills, sleeps with every second female, and is genrally an awesome anti-villain. It's well done, for what it is.

Claymore - 8.5/10

The author had to pull a deus ex machina to finish his own story with this one, which may not sit well with some readers, but I'm still satisfied. As far as dark fantasy goes, I prefer this to heavyweights like Berserk.

Ubume no Natsu - 9/10

A very disturbing read, I was quick to compare it to an Innocent Grey visual novel. Great stuff with minor shortcomings, I recommend it.

Catching up with:
Hajime no Ippo (ch. 300)
So far I'm impressed with the pacing of it. The matches doesn't feel too long and the downtime doesn't feel short either. My only and biggest complaint is that Ippo isn't fighting for anything but his love of boxing. That has already made him lose once so I hope it can find it.

Kotonoba Drive (ch. 5)
Exactly what I expected from the mangaka behind Yokohama. Really comfy, a nice change of pace between Ippo's fights.

Ranma 1/2 (ch. 80)
It feels like nothing is happening but I still enjoy Ranma fooling around with everyone. He's also pretty cute.

Caught up with:
Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru?
Cute girls goes to the gym.

Goblin Slayer
"The turboautist that's prepared for everything".

Rokudenashi Blues
Fan translation are still lagging behind by quite a lot. 150 out of 400 chapters translated. But I really like Maeda's personality and his fights are badass. It has some soap opera moments in it that I really shrug off but luckily it doesn't spend too much time with it.

Highschool of the Dead
I like the art.

Nichijou
More of what the anime gave.

Dungeon Meshi Highly recommended.
Fun cooking manga. I really enjoyed reading it.

Fuuko no Iru Mise Highly recommended.
Manga about a waitress that stammers. Really cute.

Bastard Highly recommended.
Biggest surprise from all I've read since I found it by accident. It has high tension all the time and the art gets really twisted and dark. Obligatory: "I want to protect that smile" factor too.

Finished:
Buraiden Gai Highly recommended.
Solid prison-break manga.

Golden Boy
More of Kentaro goodness. Pretty much pornography compared to the anime.

C.A.T.
Maken X Another
Okay action manga.

Nijigahara Holograph
I have no idea what I just read.

Midori no Hibi
"What if my hand had a pussy".

Appleseed
Koukaku Kidoutai: The Ghost in the Shell
I really like the character designs in the manga and the Major's personality is also cute. Don't expect this to be anything like the movie, it has some of the plot details but the spirit is all wrong.

Koukaku Kidoutai 1.5: Human-Error Processer
Koukaku Kidoutai 2: Manmachine Interface

I honestly hate how Masamune Shirow artstyle developed. I hate the photo realism skin.

Ai-Ren
Cute story about a boy about to die and his relationship with an android (?).

Doubt
Short Saw-like story about a murderer. Twist is kinda predictable but it was alright.

King of Thorns
It isn't great but I really enjoyed reading it. I'd compare this to a well made popcorn movie.

animefreak_usa Child of Samael
Girl on the shore. 7 out of 10. It's nice to see a lightsaber penis going into blank out hairy vagina even though the story was scripted as fuck. It's kind of weird that Barnes & Noble sells books like this.

Love in Hell: death life. 9 out of 10. It's kind of like the first one except the loli is more cuter. Too bad it's one of only two volumes and I'm waiting for the second one to come out since no one fucking scanned it yet. Nor the first volume.

Tomie: hardcover complete series. 4 gurofreaks out of 5. Completely weird psychotic and a bit spooky. You know I thought Uzumaki was a piece of shit. The rest of the author's library is God damn good.

Pink. 9 out of 10. Prostitution, alligators and fucking weird kind of dude fucking a girl and her mother without shame.

Happiness. 8 out of 10. I love vampires and weird shit what can I say.

Nana to kaoru. 9 out of 10 hard cocks. TT__TT FUCK YOU PROJECT H. PRINT IT ALREADY.

Catching up with:
Hajime no Ippo (ch. 600)
Ippo has better stronger tools but he hasn't made a ton of progress even in 300 chapters. The pacing is starting to change.

Shonan Junai Gumi!
GTO prequel about the OniBako. It's alright.

Caught up with:
Kawaii Joushi o Komasaretai
Really cute.

Boku no Hero Academia
My opinion of it has changed since the anime. I really like that the mangaka is doing small changes to the shounen formula that still leave a large impact on the story. I don't think it's amazing but it's definitely a great shounen.

Finished:
Domu
It's alright. Akira explosions are the highlights.

China Girl
Cute short story.

Sukima Shiki
Collection of cute stories.

Sexy Voice and Robo
It's pretty good.

Great Teacher Onizuka
It has some really good arcs but it's starting to feel formulaic at this point.

GTO: Shonan 14 Days
It's alright. Weakest out of the Onizuka series yet.

Samurai Executioner
While it is similar to Lone Wolf and Cub, they have some fundamental differences that makes Samurai Executioner its own thing. The main difference is that Lone Wolf is very pessimistic and Executioner is optimistic. Definitely read it if you like Lone Wolf.

7/10

Wasn't as good as the original.

Lost my favorites file so can't recall all of the manga I finished, but here are some recent ones:

Girl May Kill: 8/10 - Surprisingly good manga despite the sudden turn at the ending. I still recommend reading it though. I plan on buying a physical copy if it ever gets localized or whatever.

Hiai Mousou: 7/10 - Good yandere manga with a funny ending.

Iron Knight: 7/10 - It was okay. Decent enough read to kill some time with.

Itoshi no Karin: 8/10 - Simple vanilla manga. It was nice read. I spent most of my morning reading it instead of getting work done.

Mayonaka no X Giten: 7/10 - Fun mystery manga with a slightly rushed ending. It was rushed but it still managed to work.

I've almost read all of Fukumoto's major works by now. I only have Kurosawa and Ten left. Can't say I'm looking forward for more mahjong but oh well.

Reading:
Akatsuki no Yona
Already seeing a lot of shoujo tropes. I hope it doesn't get unbearable.

Caught up with:
Gin to Kin
I think it's alright. Brings a nice perspective on the underground yakuza business.

Finished:
GTO spinoffs
Kamen Teacher
Ino-Head Gargoyle
Both were alright. Not as good as the main GTO lineup.

Tobaku Haouden Zero
I like that FKMT added math puzzles, normally you'd think including math in any work is a bad idea since so many hate math. But I think it's refreshing that it relies on logic.

Tobaku Haouden Zero: Gyanki-hen
Strays away from the math sadly and becomes a treasure hunt. I think this one is far less interesting than the first season.

LifE
Good short mystery story.

Rude 39
Story about a pachinko pro. I didn't know pachinko required skills.

Tohyo game vol 1-2
7/10. Nice tits but the whole killing game idea isn't as good as deadtube.

The Promised never land. 10/10. Currently being serialized in weekly shonen jump. Everything about this manga is fantastic. The story has so many plot twists. The characters depth is fantastic. The battle of wits is on par with deathnote as you see how the children begin to put there plan into effect. There are demon creatures and a huge mystery. This is such a good series I highly recommend it.

Deadman wonderland. 6/10 First watched the anime and was left wondering what the hell happened?! Picked up the manga and was very excited to see the unfolding of the rest of the story. Great action panels. The characters were memorable and the reveal of the wretched egg was awesome. The only thing I didnt like was that it seemed to be a little slow and the artwork wasn't fantastic.

Pop Team Epic 7/10
Fucking hilarious manga but there's literally no continuity. 7/10 because it's really hit-or-miss whether you enjoy its sense of humor.

High Score Girl 9/10 (ongoing)
Rom-com about a fighting game enthusiast and his silent ojou rival. Starts when he's a kid and takes place back in the late 80's. Interesting because it follows gaming and console releases in "real time" and you get to see the characters grow up. As of the current chapter, he's in high school. The art is a turn-off for some people, but I like it.

Went on a trip and read a shit ton of manga.

Reading:
Dr. Slump - I think this is one of the most creative manga series I've read. It's filled with small interesting and fun ideas. Really enjoying this one.
Eyeshield 21 - Murata is a god at perspectives and weird angles. It's also very easy to see and understand what is happening at any given time. I wished for some more character development for Sena. Overall super solid sport manga.
Tonari no Kashiwagi-san - It's stuck in Key vn with tons of mid 2000 tropes. It's a little cute to read but it gets stale rather quickly. Still it's a decent romcom.

Caught up to:
Yagate Kimi ni Naru - Seriously amazed by this. It's a cute yuri story with a ton of complex introspection. It blows every other yuri manga out of the water.
Vinland Saga - Consistently very good and then it throws a unexpected twist at you. It changes the entire shape of the manga but I still like where it's going.
Keyman: The Hand of Judgement - It has a plot point that I've told other would be effective and I think it works well here. However Keyman is filled with so many twists and turns that it all kinda falls apart. It starts feeling like Keyman can't stay interesting without throwing something unexpected at you. I do hope this gets adapted into anime and that the director is wise enough to remove the other unnecessary twists. To reiterate, I do think this manga is very good in the beginning, it's only towards the end that it falls flat. I also like the art style a lot although it can be difficult making out what is happening.
Idol na Kanojo to Wotaku na Boku to - It has tits and crazy chicks.
Yuragisou no Yuuna-san - It's trash but it has good art and boobs.

Completed:
Emma - Kaoru Mori is very good at making very good historical slice of life manga. This is no exception.
Kanojo wa Rokurokubi - Really cute manga. Wished it was longer. I like this art style as well.
Uwagaki - The strongest 6/10 I've given to anything. I understand the message it wants to convey and it does convey it well. However it's behind a lot of other crap and I feel like the author could have gotten rid of a lot of elements and still kept the original message intact.
PositioN - It has the same comfy feel as his other manga series. And the art is as impressive as always.
Renai Shimasen ka? - Good art. Best girl didn't win reeeee.
Inugami-san to Sarutobi-kun wa Naka ga Warui. - Hero is a douche but it gets better towards the end. Really like this guy's art style.
Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan - Interesting to read the Reminiscence arc, the rest is meh. I didn't think it had the impact that the Deen anime had. Which made me very surprised. I didn't think I would ever praise Studio DEEN but kudos to you.
Deai-kei Site de Imouto to Deau Hanashi
Kiku
Tokyo Girls Destruction
Senran Kagura: Spark!

Dropped:
Hetakoi - It's fine, really. I just got bored of the melodrama.
Ayame 14
Haru to Natsu
Ane to Muchi
Ana Satsujin
Freezing
Monochrome: Teito Ninpouchou
Ãœbel Blatt

Yotsuba! Vol 1-13: 9.5/10 Great slice of life manga that really shows Japanese culture, vs just explaining it. Lots of fun characters.

Revenge Classroom - 6.5/10

This had some interesting potential when it started, but the ending kinda messed everything up. Shame.

Jormungand - 9/10

I prefer this to Black Lagoon's over-the-topness. Also I understand why Koko is called a loco. And I say HELL YEAH. Oh, and Schokolade is adorable.
