Advertisements

i understand your values vaguely when it comes to advertisement on the site jacob. from what i remember i believe you prefer an aesthetic environment that encourages a much more user friendly experience, so who can say they're impractical ideas? i see youve even applied advertisements to the bottom of pages for increased revenue. BUT the one thing thats been bothering me since day one is the unavoidable pop up advertisements displayed periodically while reading manga online. let me explain.

i feel theres an irritating inconvenience in pop up ads such as these because they remind me of television commercials: its the downtime of anticipation until the next show. website advertisements are usually there to attract their own attention with flashy borders and wicked fonts and what not, but not this ad. they ignore the conventional and get in the damn way when im trying to wack off! lol

i believe that a more reasonable and ergonomic alternative is available. why not apply banners and links to both sides of the manga images? it isnt easy to clutter the simple browse mechanics youve integrated and they would compliment the underlying white/pink well. i know this would mean alot of extra coding for you and your buddies but it leaves space for more advertising opportunities and wont be as big of a pain on fakku veterans and newcomers alike.

The gay porn ads at the bottom and occasionally at the right bother me a lot too, but i think that there's nothing to be done about that huh...

lol someone else said that in the serious discussion forum...i think he/she even made a poll about it weather or not they were irratating..I think Mike was the one who closed it...anyway, they won't be getting rid of the ads (though I've never seen any..<_<) cause they need some income to maintain this place lol

thats very unfortunate. ever since the site went through a significant dimension change i always considered the excess of space on both sides as untapped marketing potential, but that idea contradicts my not to solid review of jacobs values. if you were ever curious to utilize the borders to such an extent this could be the perfect field test.

I'll be honest, I hate the ads. That's why I use Adblock. I know it's not doing good for the site, but I will gladly support the site through other means (like buying the Hen-Tie shirt).

I don't really use the online viewing feature on Fakku since downloading whatever I happen to be reading solves that problem. I know some people don't want to do that, can't do that, or for whatever reason etc. A topic like this was made a long time ago when a user complained that a ad would redirect him on every page. The only solution we had for him in the end was Firefox and the ad blocker add on. Other users that use these two features said the ads don't pop up with those two programs.

I hate the ads. But they make the money that keep us online. The fullpage ads make more money than regular banner ads. So unless you want to start donating regularly, there is no alternative.

They pay to rent "some space" in your site. The more visited your site is, the higher is the cost to put an Ad there.

Edit: "They" being the ones Advertising.

I don't get how ads bother people so much? I just ignore them and move on ad's are important they keep the site free that should be enough for anyone.

im willing to insure my monthly contributions in order to see this changed. that being said, i dont want you to change it only to have my contribution compensate the change. obviously i havent done my homework on the effectiveness of ads in terms of size or income, i just had a pretense that the more casual fakku visitors that prefer viewing manga online would significantly prefer a less... intimate ad. i cant speak for them all though, i guess we would have to have a poll or something to clarify the truth.

I really appreciate your willingness to donate, but it would take a huge investment from the users to cover advertisement revenue. And I have learned that donations are unreliable.

I welcome your donations though. Perhaps I could do some type of donate x amount, no ads.

I just dl the new doujins so it dosent bother me much..
but i have knowticed it when veiwing online to see if the doujin is worth dl'ing..
i guess its not that bad but it provides a profit for fakku so im all for it.. as long as fakku stays online im happy.. the adds arn't as bad as other sites anyways so y even bitch.. i dont even need addblock+ on this site..

its the principle guys, i know me and lol are nitpicking here but the fact of the matter is its an inconvenience, regardless of how small a one, to some of the visitors. some people have to browse fakku using a family or multi-user computer so it isnt always the best idea to save them just to be found. gotta be discrete when it comes to porn, ninja like.
