Today i decide to change my avatar pic and when it ask me to crop the image, i crop it and then press submit button, but it always direct me to "Fakku is temporarily down for maintenance", and now i'm stuck with no avatar pic.

it happened to me,i guess they are fixing it or mantaining it at the moment
I would suggest you
go to your profile,
check the delete image radio button,
submit and then
upload an avatar smaller than 150x150 and it should be fine

i tried it with a 135x80 picture and it still didn't work.
Seems i must wait until tomorrow

extra info, maximum size is 160x260 so if your avatar is bigger then say goodbye and it have a file size limit so try not to use a long gif picture as an avatar.

I change my avatar all the time, so I'm pretty good at fixing this. Usually.
And the biggest problem: is it saved as a .png? If it is, it will not work, period. It'll always fuck up and give you the 'down for maintenence' deal.
If you do manage to get stuck not having one, just use the delete avatar box, hit submit. That'll set you back to having the original avatar. Then just upload one that has worked (Or change the image you want off of a .png) and you'll be fine.

Should be fixed now, including support for cropping PNG files.
If you find a file which it can't handle properly, can you upload it somewhere so I can reproduce the issue? I'm pretty sure I checked all the boxes when I compiled/installed the GD image library, but it's possible we're missing some extension or another.
