Agreed. This secrecy isn't tantalizing anymore, it's simply frustrating after months with zero explanation (no, "big things are coming" is not an explanation) about things breaking (API & logins). I'm going through and recording my favorite authors in a list before they take that down too.
Also, "slowly" seems a bit inaccurate. Immediately all "controversial" content is gone again.

To be perfectly honest, I'm astonished to hear that you didn't know. The Developer forum has had nothing but people asking about apps not working or API calls not returning anything since the beginning of May. The API only came back up for a few days after your May 15 post. Whatever app community you wanted to cultivate took a decent hit because of this.
Well, now we know where to post to get your attention at least. Oh, and login cookies have been broken for even longer (clicking "Remember Me" doesn't actually remember your account for a lot of people, including me), and I'm not sure if you were actually told that the last post feature in the forums hasn't been working for months either.

If Jacob is seriously removing all scanlations, then I'm going to be pissed. Really, if he removes any I'll be pissed. Guess I'm going to have to use exhentai from now on exclusively. I prefer Fakku's design, but if integrity of content is damaged, I'm out.

They may not be removed completely (as in they're there, but we can't actually get to them like last time), but they are gone.

Last time it happened was bad enough, but it sounds like the content is actually going to be removed this time, not just hidden. That would be unacceptable.

I used only Fakku! as a place to record my doujin and manga that I've read and enjoyed which I end up buying anyways.
Now that this may be gone, sure h-manga might have other places like MAL for instance...but I have no equivalent for doujinshi :/

Wow.. my comment was negged. I'll make it impossible to miss: As a (now apparently former) books buyer, I WILL NOT be spending any more money on fakku books if the intention is to go "all legit". I have experienced this phenomenon before, and it results in the "now legitimate" organization literally starving its own population and it's income) to death.
If it is FAKKU's intention to move from a business model where you aggregate free content to a business model where you only have paid content then you WILL run face first into the first business rule of the internet.
Namely that the internet is a big fraggin place, where law never keeps up with lawbreakers.
The free content will still be available. There are orphans in hovels of the poverty stricken 'burb of your choice who know this. So the content aint lost.
What you will loose, however, is people like myself for whom If given the option to pay for a product, they will happily do so, but if not given the option, will obtain the product no matter what.
Why?

As somebody who has purchased nearly every book released so far and loved Fakku for years I'm leaving thanks to this. Going to download my last purchase and bail, it was fun while it lasted.
I wouldn't even be that annoyed at all the fan work disappearing if the people running the site would actually talk to people instead of promising big things and then removing 99% of the site from existence. That's not big things, that's a big removal of things.
As somebody who occasionally does my own translation work I'll be going back to exhen with renewed interest, sure it's not as pretty as Fakku but at least the people running it aren't content with taking money, promising something big and then obliterating most all content.

I am in full support of Fakku. I started using this website over 3 years ago, but I only just recently made an account. I support Jacob, I just don't find it surprising that people are getting antsy when stuff disappears concurrently when both times Jacob is just saying to trust him he'll fill us in eventually. I can wait for the content to come back or whatever changes are coming, but not everyone has the patience. Keep up the good work Misaki_Chi and Jacob.

I mean I kinda saw this coming. One business entity cant be legit with proper licensing agreements AND also be hosting illegal fan scans. Once Fakku went for the publishing, the writing was pretty much slapped right up on the wall...
