This may or may not have come up before but I wanted to share this suggestion anyway because it is needed. As anyone who enjoys a bit of "hardcore" manga would know, the comment sections for individual manga are full of garbage posts that consists of trolling and flaming.
The comment section, I'm going to assume, is supposed to be an extension of the forum. If my assumption is correct then most general rules within the forums should apply in the comment section, as well.
The comments made should, not only relevant to the manga, but also be said respectfully without the unnecessary insults; insulting the: manga artist, another person's taste, or the translators(!) adds nothing of value to this site. And since these mangas are accepted and is a part of fakku.net, people should also learn to accept them for what they are.
To add a little blunt opinion to this post, I start to doubt whether or not most people on this site are over the legal age of 18 due to the immature comments I come across during almost every visit.
So with that said, I propose that the comment section be moderated to ensure more quality comments compared to the current cesspool of, I paraphrase: "this manga artist is sick! I bet he's never been loved", "somethingsomething-group translators fuck off with your sick shit", "whoever enjoys these type of manga should not be allowed to live", etc.

Yeah, I must agree most of the manga comments are retarted [sic]. I usually try to ignore them. Most of the users who post those comments have never posted in the forums at all.

I think it doesn't need any moderation. Well, even if it has, what kind of moderation that you can offer ?
Doujin's comment isn't affecting the actual post count of related user, so I think it's alright to leave that place stay un-moderated. People speak their mind (even though some are too stupid or incoherent), but you are free to ignore these kind of comments as well.

A comment is one's own opinion and to limit seems unusual, right? Because I believe they have the right to say whatever they want, except that they need to learn proper etiquette.

You can't expect a place to not have immature users, really. There will always be some people who'll say, "This is shit", or "People shouldn't be allowed to live to getting off to this shit" and so on. But what can you do? Limiting the comments on the comment section won't make it a comment section anymore. People just needs to chill and not care say BS about the things they hate/not want.

I plan to introduce a way to vote up/down comments on manga, that way you can choose which comments display on the page.

That sounds kinda cool.
Everyone else, for now please send me a copy of your comments before you post them. I will proof read them and send them back to you with corrections and tips on how to improve them and make them more interesting.

and the non-approved ones will be "man up it's not real!"

lol.
And the vote up/down option shouldn't affect the reps of the users.

I would love to assist you on this holy endeavor. May we vanquish all stupidity from the forums on an impossible quest! We must follow that star! No matter how hopeless, no matter how far!
Can I call you Don Quixote from now on? Or would you prefer Sancho?

Yeah but I'd take something you said way more seriously then something from someone I've never seen on the forums before.

Just to clarify, I am not fixated on my initial suggestion of [stricter] comment moderation. My overall point was that there is a need for an improvement in the comment section and any suggestion is most certainly welcome.
This is pretty much it.

We can voice our opinions here, however, there are also rules that we must follow when we do so. I don't understand why the comment section should be any different than the forums. And I disagree that enforcing rules of the site will somehow make the comment section stop being what it is. There is a degree of difference between expressing one's opinion and outright flaming and trolling, which, to get a little dramatic, is an attack on personal freedom; it's not really about limiting people's freedom but rather the opposite.
I do, however, agree that people should live and let live regarding everyone else's preferences in manga/doujin. This isn't the case in majority of the non-vanilla entries, which is why I bring up my suggestion.
This sounds promising, though I worry that it might become somewhat like a currently existing "news site" where an extremely biased group basically controls the comments section.

^ Exactly.
