Custom title

well ive been thinking why dont the elite/elder members have a custom title? is it not supported on the board?

The idea was shot down because it would clutter up the boards with needless information. While I would be happy to get a custom title it's just not going to happen. I only know of one person who has a title that isn't related to fakku (Admin, Mod, uploader) and that is our Nee-chan who has been absent since her marriage.

While it doesn't take up more space it just leads to confusion with the newer members.

Tsujoi also got a custom title. But thats cuz he's awesome like that.

tsujoi seems to be able to change his title though, so it seems it is "happening" to some of us.

Tsujoi is also a mod of the Specific Manga Series forum. As far as I remember Mods are able to change their titles as they please.

I still don't see the big deal. There's tons of forums that allow their members to change their titles right when they register. I don't think Fakku would explode if we were given the option. Even if anything did go wrong just take the option away.

Yeah sure, but if you ask me it's kinda hypocritical to have mods tell us we can't change our custom titles cuz of whatever and then do it themselves.

I agree with holic but, the fact of the matter is that Raze (or maybe it was Jacob) shot down the idea. When you look at it in the long run. If everybody gets the chance to change their title then we'll have a fuck-ton of people with various titles. On forums I used to visit the mods would grant custom titles to people they liked, proved beneficial to the community or just stood out in the community.

A perfect example is nee-chan. She stood out in the community so she got a custom title. Maybe that is a compromise we can make with the admins. Give the mods the ability to grant a custom title. The mod would ask the person what they want their title to be. The people would tell the mod what they wanted and the mod would make the change when they got the opportunity.

it still boils down to the Raze (or jacob) thought that the idea wasn't necessary and would clutter up the forum.

EDIT : I still think that having the option of a custom title after "X" amount of reputation isn't a ridiculous request. If noobs start spamming crap uploads or bitching and complaining ban their ass. Why should we be limited?

To clear everything up, Mods cannot change their own title. It is ultimately up to the admins to change titles. We(the mods) have to ask the admins to change it for us. rukia was a special case, Jacob just decided to throw it on. That's that. Sorry.

Right now the staff feels that there is no need for custom titles, and I agree. Everyone has a signature they can customize, with images too: there's the place to put your custom title. A username, avatar, and signature should be more than enough for identification, and anything extra like a custom title is just stroking your e-penis.

Furthermore, not only are custom titles unnecessary and increase clutter like Raze said, it encourages elitism. We end up excluding the new members. And we certainly don't want new members to start spamming so they can finally change their custom title.

Custom titles are unnecessary and I'm sorry but there's a lot more important things we are working on and worrying about. This is our final decision on the matter.

Set up a warning, and if they ignore it ban 'em.
I don't see why the already active members of Fakku is gonna miss out on stuff just cuz of these spammers, just fuckin ban 'em.

They've already fucked it up for the rest of us so that the reporters can come and go however they please in the upload-section, it has to stop somewhere.

Oh? Do we honestly need to spell it out word-for-word, or are you really that short-sighted? Think about it. High rep and post count requirement to obtain a custom title, a select few people with it, and the new people trying to fit in.


It's not like you're missing out on anything big. You just can't get custom titles, which you could easily put in your signature anyway.


We're working on it. It's along the lines of a nifty report/temp-ban system; you guys can help us by reporting problem posts and threads. Once we get something nice and efficient going, then we can try having a Post Count requirement the User Uploads section. Can't jump the gun can we.


Like I said, needless clutter. Jacob and I agree completely on this. And honestly, we couldn't care less about what other forums are doing. We are we, they are they. What they do is none of our business, and the same is true vice-versa.

Before "fighting another day," you should let the admins solve all the other problems. There are more pressing concerns, and custom titles are simply a luxury.

Yes, I'd like to have a custom title, but I'd also like to have a hot tub in my living room. I could work really hard and get one, but it's not that important. I'd rather buy food and have leisure time.

Honestly, and not to provoke anything, arguing with administration is like kicking a spiked wall. It's silly.

Ultimately, after reading the arguments, a custom title is useless.

Like Raze said, there are far more important issues to tackle. One of them is the reporting links incident. Another is an effective way to deal with outrageous newcomer users or newcomers that happen to break some rules. Another one is one I'm currently working on, a new Rules/FAQ page and plan for FAKKU to implement, which I'm currently waiting for constructive criticism since it's done.

So all in all, this custom title, while fun, can come later.
