Dealing with requests in incorrect forums.

I'm trying to just chalk this up as me being really pertinent in my intention, but at the same time I do get the feeling I'm making too big a deal of nothing. However, I thought I'd bring this up anyway.
Is there a point where "backseat moderating" is a problem on Fakku? In particular, when it comes to users pointing out that threads that contain requests, which are not present in Requests, should be placed in requests? I understand that pointing that out to a user is useful information, especially when they are new. At the same time, however, that does nothing for the situation at hand: the topic is still wherever it is sitting incorrectly, nor has the request itself been given attention.
I know it is best to just Report the topic, mentioning that it belongs in Requests and move on. However, it seems like sometimes people rather just post an arbitrary comment like "This topic belongs in Requests." Okay, like I said, that is useful information but that does little to help either the request holder or the staff.
I guess what I'm trying to get at is we really could use a defined, clearly visible, instruction in what to do when a request appears outside of its respected forum.

I don't think it's a problem, people are trying to be helpful. If people go about it the wrong way, such as insulting the person and not reporting it to be moved, then it would be. However, I don't see that too often.
If you believe a topic is posted in the wrong section, report it and the moderation staff will see it and move it if it needs to be. Requests are easy to identify, so stating in the thread that it should be in requests is fine. If you aren't positive that it is in the wrong section, you shouldn't say anything and just report it. Momoka sends an automated message when threads are moved anyway.
Hope that clears things up.

I've been moderating a while now and I can't say Ive seen someone harass another user for posting in the wrong section more than I can count on one hand? If someone does point out that it should be a request they normally report it as well as mike said. So it's a non issue in my mind. To be fair it sometimes saves me the explanation.
Thanks for thinking about it though, at least you still try to make Fakku a better place even if I don't always agree with your ideas/methods.

I comment but also report. It prevents others from making the same mistake. No, it just makes them delete their first post and remake the same thread. Lrn2PMindetail
Then the mods should delete the whole entire thread.
