Of course. If everyone had tougher skin, the forum wouldn't have any problems whatsoever.
Fakku's premise appears to be made of softer, kinder stuff at its deeper levels though, evinced by the constant influx of trust that comes from newer viewers. IB is really active so it naturally attracts people who want to have a sense of belonging, so people, even against better judgement, drift into the sea of conversation.
Make no mistake, IB is the coolest fucking section in Fakku because it moves fast and has tons of awesome shit. I just wish we could find the balance between being carefree in the /b/ fashion while somehow being better than /b/ as a whole, preferably without any moderation whatsoever.
/b/ can be a terrible, horrifying place sometimes
I'll agree that IB is generally more fast-paced than the rest of the forum, but new people think that they can just jump right in. Obviously most of them can't handle what's in store very well. In most Meet&Greet threads the new users are warned/advised several times to stay away from IB, and the ones who ignore that get flamed.
ALSO: Art, that was one hell of a post.

Even if you don't personally receive any attacks or commentary on whatsoever thread, your care shows you indeed are butthurt.I'm not "Butthurt" about anything and even if I was it wouldn't matter here? I'm trying to ask if the rule "Do not insult or harass other members. " applies in "Incoherent Babbling" and by the looks of it your trying to find a way to troll or turn people against me. If your going to make unnecessary comments please just stop posting in this thread. -.-
The question is..."is replying to senseless post, is considered 'harassment'?"
Truthfully, I don't see any harassment going there.

I agree. I think the next time someone jumps into the fire, gets burned and then complains about it, we'll find that said warning post.
Although part of me also wants to gather some minds and find the best abstraction that explains how to lurk well, but that's another thread altogether.

Please try to understand that IB has been like this for years now, and you know how hard it is to stop a tradition of harassing and insults. Most users have learned of this and have tried their best to avoid IB because they know that they will not get the replies they want.
Making a thread in IB is a gamble, it's either you win or you lose but if you play your cards right you can most likely win. IB is a merciless and no hold barred community that will not hesitate to convey their emotions of hate towards certain users, if you think sharing an opinion in IB is a good idea then you're gonna be disappointed. I myself was not accepted in IB at first but I did not care about that, I was too busy sharing serious opinions in serious threads about things I like (Random, Video Games, Music). IB may not be the ideal community but it is a community, it's a place where a thread about almost anything can be turned into a OP hating thread.
If you want to share opinions do so on random but be sure to put some more content into your threads as to not be labeled as IB material or any other forum that piques your interest.
Now I do not condone harassment and insult but I do believe in trial through fire, a lot of users you see posting in IB were unwelcome to IB at first. They were hated, reviled and unwelcome in the land of IB, but they had something that made them survive through that. Don't worry you'll learn what that "something" is eventually.

That's not too difficult to answer. Look around sections of the forum that aren't IB or Random and see how people respond. There are a lot of good users on Fakku and they past rather well. They set an excellent example of how clear or concise or grammatically correct to be when posting.
Learning how to post well by lurking really just takes time and patience.

Haha, my idea of that kind of advice is more needlessly complicated than that. I want flow-charts and tons cute anime characters sprinkled around so that it makes patience and lurking seem fun through raw trickery.

Well, it was kinda fun to figure out the more active posters' personalities based on their posts. It was also pretty interesting to see the forum grow and change when was lurking.

In no shape or form am I trying to troll you and I don't quite see how giving an opposite opinion is unnecessary but I'm bringing in the question : Why should we care? The reason why it matters if you are indeed butthurt is to show that there is no adequate response to your question as it in its presented form is trivial. This opposition, would you consider it harassment or a personal insult to you? It follows the suit of every comment made to the unsavory fags in IB. While it does pushes a line, comments like what I posted are meant to cause the OP to question; this in point is exactly what newfags forget. Newfags have the audacity at times to believe immediately what they say has worth then when criticized through harsh remark as you would see it continue to do so. A proper user would try first to stop and learn. Newfags do not.

"Ps3 limitation won't allow me to quote long paragraph"I can't give you a proper response right now because I'm really tired and sleepy.
But I will say this thread is only about "Does a certain rule applie in Incoherent Babbling." I'm not going to start a debate on your comment.

Would you please read the rule again? It clearly says "Some rules may not apply in IB due to the nature of the board itself."

If you grow thicker skin in IB you might be accepted...
If not, then either lurk more, go to CTFG, or quit...

Well, the blame also partially goes to the certain user for being dumb.
No offense but, but if you can't take insults then you don't belong in IB, especially if you act all high and mighty.
But hey, I am just giving an example, I'm not saying it's you.
But, OT, like what Zero has said.
Of course, the Mods will do something about it if the insult is over the limit.
But if they left the board and the mods didn't actually say anything about, it proved that they are not worth our time

OK, this goes to both you and Shin, and it's going to seem very surprising, especially coming from me.I am on IB's side in this fight. Yes, even I will admit, they say fag a lot, but it's only because it's getting unoriginal now. I now believe that users like these need to be talked down to like this, because, I'm gonna be very blunt now, being nice and holding their hands all the time is worthless, especially if the user shows absolutely NO improvement in their posts or behaviour.
what fight?
this isn't about me and shin vs IB...
you asked for an example so I gave it to you
don't get me wrong. I love IB. like grenouille mentioned it's the coolest fucking section here in Fakku!
So yes, for the cases presented, I firmly believe that we were, I guess you can say, "justified". I'm apologize for the long rant and the needless "whiteknighting" of IB, but I couldn't stand seeing cases presented without proper context and background given on them.
the background was already PMed to me by someone.
actions made by the old users who knew the actual event is maybe "justified".
I am just irked as to why a newcomer joins the "witch-hunt" just to fit in IB...
I just said how it seems in a stranger's eyes, or in a third persons perspective.
I am neutral or you should say on Fakku's side. (The persons involved have made actions to get them banned and actually made things worse). but the ganging up gives the forums a bad name.
and about meow I'll take your word on that.I was just surprised by your sudden outbursts, and you've been displaying it quite often lately. (must be because of her. I'm not against you. I was also a bit annoyed at meow and how that double poster behaved). it also doesn't help that you mentioned something about hate on the new users, wrong choice of words probably.
and now back on the topic my only issue now is the the trolling, baiting etc. outside IB

Again I say, read the rules again. It clearly says, "some rules may not apply in IB due to the nature of the board itself."
Also, a certain mod told me that there is actually no 'exact' rule in IB, everything that goes there depends entirely on the mods or admins current mood.

it's ok...
I understand IB...or I try not to be sensitive about the topics in IB.
if i didn't why would most of my comments this past few days were in IB?
the trolling and bashing, and baiting are already crossing over to the other forums.

In the case outside IB, I see it happens mostly because the victim (yeah, I said victim), either do not abide by the rule or just simply spouting nonsense, illogical statement. This happens quite often in SD.
Also, the mods are doing a pretty good job. If they say no problem, then I see no problem.

Mod Note: First and foremost, I would urge all users to remain calm, remain on topic and refrain from verbally attacking one another.
Thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation.
Getting back on topic, I personally do not condone harassment (which includes flaming, trolling, etc), particularly in sections outside of Incoherent Babbling. Each staff member have different methods of dealing with certain situations (and depending on the section of the forum involved); some may be more lenient under certain cirumstances while brandishing the rod in others.
If a user is uncomfortable with a particular situation, please do not hesitate to utilize the report function. Alternatively, feel free to PM any of the staff members on the issue, and we will look into the matter.
Now, on a more personal note, I would prefer if users were to look back on the situation and perhaps choose to stay instead of leaving the community. In my opinion, an online community requires active users to flourish and thrive. Of course, one may argue that we can easily obtain new users to the community, based on the hentai content which Fakku provides, but can we be sure that these users will become active or stay so for the long run? (By active, I refer to posting in the forums, etc).
