Elder? Elite?

I remember being a Fakku Elder earlier today, and now I'm an Elite. I thought it was post count, but then I saw someone with more posts than me who was still an Elder.

I'm pretty sure I missed a very OBVIOUS thread, so could someone point me in the right direction?

Since you have 730 posts, does that mean 270 of your posts got erased??
