I've set it so that I won't receive emails whenever I am PM'd...but I am getting them anyway....a bug?

I think he means this: "Always notify me of replies via email:", that's in the Edit profile-options.

I thought that option was for notifying the user of replies in threads, not personal messages. Perhaps an option to not email a user when they recieve a personal message has yet to be implemented.

Yea it is for that, when it's on it will automatically subscribe them to every topic they post in.
As for implementing, good call Mattarat, would be a useful function, I think.

Here's a little proposal - when you're working on the PM notifications anyways, you might add a function that drops the sender, date/timestamp and subject of the PM into the notification email. I think that'd be kinda neat to have, if it's not too much work.
Just a thought, though.

But I honestly didn't even know it sent emails when a user received a PM? It never has for me at least.

I think that would be because a long time ago when it was toggable you had it set to not do that, so in the database it's still got you set to that, but new accounts default to receive email on pm.
Just speculation, though.
