Embedded Youtube Videos

I've noticed now since youtube has updated their direct link system for their new videos that the youtube posting button no longer works for placing videos in a thread. I tried a couple of other ways and I couldn't get a new video to work in a post.

For new videos, the new url looks like this:

http://youtu.be/yegE5ai9abQ

And this is what shows up when I try to post that link with the usual youtube button/code:



So I'm wondering if the youtube button then needs to be updated for it to work for new youtube videos.

The url still works though, right? I'd never used the share tab thingy. Forgive me if I'm missing the issue here.

Seems to be working fine for me.

EDIT: normally I don't use the youtube thing in the tools area for posts. But I did for the video I posted and worked fine.

The youtube embed code (where you could adjust the height and width and also add color to the player) used to work on Fakku a while back but now it doesn't =\

Same here i just add http://www.youtube.com/watch.?v=
then the code number... or the url it the same.

I was surprised that html code worked for as long as it did. It has more malicious uses than just Youtube videos.

It seems to be working perfectly fine for me, unless I am misunderstanding something.

I think TwilightEngel means is that when you click on the share button on the youtube video page, the link that is given won't work with the youtube bbc code on this site.

But couldn't you just copy the url of the video you wish to post and put it into the bbc code like it has always been done?

Yup, that's the gist of it. I've always used the share function, and I guess I'll have to go back to just copying the url for now.
