Favorite threads

Exactly what the title says. Could there be a feature where you can favorite threads like you do with doujinshi? Maybe the number of favorites could be displayed on the OP as well for penis ego stroking.

I actually really like this idea, they use this feature on a music forum I go on from time to time to keep you up to date with new posts on threads instead of having to constantly check back for new feedback/posts/uploads hopefully it gets taken into consideration.

If your thread is popular and liked it'll be on the front page most of the time. All I can see for this are people making threads saying "Favorite This". I don't think this will be a great idea.

Hopefully the users here are not fuckwitted enough to just favorite something to appease someone asking for it. (ie, rep threads always cause the person to lose rep rather than gain it.)

Perhaps. In light of some recent posts I've read, I may be inclined to agree with you.

It could potentially get added to your favourite doujinshi section on your profile, it could also be a feature that is hidden from every user other than yourself, maybe a link to a page that you can click in the profile section that will show if a new post has been made by showing that thread ?

Also I disagree to showing how many has added the thread as a favourite for the same reason of "please sir, more rep sir." as already mentioned.

It's called Bookmarks.

Use them.

By that reasoning there is no point in a favorite button for the doujins either, even though you have used it for a bunch of doujins yourself. Why does any site have a favorites option for anything? It's for ease of use, and so that your bookmark folder doesn't become over-full with nonsense.

...and it would have an element of interactivity that bookmarks rather lack. I like it. The only thing is that good, old threads might get a lot more useless bumps.

People already do this crap in their signature. Most threads that are decent are a sticky or remain active and on the front page.

The only forums actually active enough to push those types of threads away are IB and Random where having favorite threads is a pointless.
