Friend list? Maybe?

Would we ever have a friend list? ^^ Maybe it's just a stupid idea, but I like being able to keep all my buddys together on each site. And I know that a lot of people may not favor it. Even though I know that this site may have not been made so we could make friends, it does kinda help us peoples and pervs meet. So we get along because we share this pervishness, so we become friends. *logical somehow*
Hence forth!; friend list please?
I'd also like everyone's opinion on this, even if it's stupid.

I don't particularly find a friend list useful, and once you stick in the forums long enough, you'll know who to respect and converse with, right? Plus, since the memberlist isn't available, I don't think a friend list would be either. Not a bad idea, but I've never heard of something like this implemented on the forums. Maybe IRC chat and IM, but that's about it.

[size=10]No need for a friend list.
Here on Fakku, we're all friends :P
On a serious note, G-money pretty much summed things up:
"once you stick in the forums long enough, you'll know who to respect and converse with."[/h]

I'd like an f-list, it would just kinda make it easier to track what your friends are posting in (yes, rather than clicking their name...I know I'm lazy). Ah but I would make it where you have to approve the person adding them to your f-list. Hmmm~ well, with all that it probably wouldn't be worth it to the ops to do it. *will have to be un-lazy*

Bump.
I would love a Friends list for a number of things. One, I can't remember some of the older members. It would be very advantages to be able to keep track with someone you really connected with or found interesting. Anytime anyone takes a sabbatical from Fakku, I seem to forget some of them. People like Nate River, Bakalover, BioHazard, Lurking, and Comartemis come to mind when I think of members I want to remember but forgot frequently. A friends list would prove helpful in such situations, it would also be cool to have whose online list in the friends list or maybe a tag for friends in the active member list at the bottom of the forums. Plus, a friends list could also help those forgotten members in that we could send members that have been gone for awhile PMs to maybe help them remember that,"Hey, it's *so and so* from Fakku, just wanted to remind you that I miss having you on the boards and would like to see you back."
Just throwing this out there.

Friend lists are on VBulliten forums. They don't do much other than show people who likes who.
I like how on one forum it's been renamed to "Butt-buddy" because, that's really how it is.
I think they'll be friction causing and butt-hurt causing after users get... their butts hurt because [xxyy] didn't accept their friend request. But they'll also make people go "Well, he's friends with xxyy so I'll avoid him..."
Seriously. Lots of high school drama might spawn from this one.

Yeah, I also think that Friend Lists are kind of a bit kiddy and pointless. Reminds me of when you were 15 or so and tried to get everyone you met on your MSN and mobile phone address book even though you'd never actually use their contact details...
That said, I do think the profile page could use a bit more information, like where people are from (the recent frontpage post shows that people really enjoy knowing where other users are from) and possibly things like what games you're currently playing and what anime you're currently watching. It might also sound a bit too social network-y but if implemented correctly it could be used for interesting things like what the most popular anime and games on FAKKU are at the moment which would (a) maybe be quite interesting to users and (b) possibly give a good idea of what series people want doujinshi of.

call it what it is: a "random list of people i have met over the internet, some of which i actually talk to and some are just fags", or an "acquaintance list"

Well since we had a new topic about this today, I wouldn't mind giving my two cents.
I think it wouldn't be a bad idea. I could understand the notion that it is childish, but it could also be useful for quickly being able to get ahold of people you are particularly close to on Fakku (even though the Who's Online is pretty quick as well, I suppose.)
It could easily be a feature, and if you want to use it, use it; and if you don't ignore it.

It's already been denied, so there's no point for more negative input on this subject.Where did Jacob, Nikon, or Raze give there two cents?

two cents? The fact that nothing was done about it should be enough money in the fountain of opinions.

Think of a topic by the person, look for it and voila, their profile link. Also, you're only likely to need to contact someone active, so they'll probably have posts on the first page of various forums. Minimal effort compared to the implementation of such a system.

Dunno. You can just keep a text file named RICHARD_M_NIXONS_LIST.TXT
Into that file, drop nicknames of people you respect or hate and a short quote/snippet as a constant reminder as to why.
Works for me.
And if you want to see what these people posted since the last time you visited, turn the text file into an html file with links to your buddies' posts (format https://www.fakku.net/search.php?search_author=NICKNAME). Voilà .
