I have recently receieved the following error when posting. It does not interfere with the actual post, as the message you typed up still shows, but the following message appears after clicking Post Reply.

Oh i've gotten that too once! When I tried to post in a IB thread. I tried several times but it always showed the same message. Then I tried to post in a different thread and it didn't appear.

That error is completely unrelated and should have its own topic if anything.. Also to my knowledge it was corrected earlier..

On-Topic: As for the email error, my guess is it's occurring because it's trying to email the users who are subscribed to the topics with the new post.

The only thing I can figure is there is a problem in the email script.

Kind of came to that conclusion as well. So far I haven't gotten the error since Shuugo shut that part down, but I wonder if it's been fixed yet?
