I was thinking, what about creating a new search category, based on the genre of the doujin? If you add to each manga, one or more tags like "RAPE", "LOLICON", etc..., it would be easier to find the kind of work you are looking for.
Of course, the only difficult part will be to tag all the already existing mangas on the site, but IMO, that would be a really awesome improvement.

I agree. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a certain kind, and it's really difficult to find it with just the title.
But tagging would be a bitch, unless maybe registered users could tag it (after reading) and take some of the burden?

I was actually gonna suggest something as well, but I haven't really figured out how we could implement the system.
I was thinking along the lines of how members with 10 and above rep can edit manga info, but I realized the flaw that we'd be giving too much power to members that would probably abuse it or never use it as such. I was still brainstorming some plans but it was at my leisure, now that a topic was made, I think I can probably come up with something by tomorrow, if Jacob is willing to implement such a system.

How bout we have a new FAKKU title called Taggers, similar to mods, but their power is exclusive to manga and tagging. We could have Jacob offer these tasks or people could volunteer(I myself am an avid manga reader so I would not mind such a task), and Jacob would judge them or even interview them for the office. But, these taggers can't just tag manga with anything they seem fit. We should implement specific tags for manga, due to the depth of the fakku library. we should have a limited number of tags less than 10 genre: incest, gangbang, rape, harem, consensual, series, etc. And we tag by this pre-determined list of genres, but we should only be allowed to give a manga 2 or maybe 3 tags.

The only problem with this is I don't have any idea on how the search function could help you narrow it down to specific mangas.
For example: I looked through the entire english library to find this one manga involving a teacher who was featured in a porno mag. Upon reaching school she notices some students seeing her, and fantasizes being blackmailed for sex. I was planning on favoriting it, but alas, it could not be found.

I would even like to help if something like it was ever implemented.I second that, I would gladly help out with that as much as I could with my ever changing schedule. it would also be a blessing and a curse lu.scio.us uses a tagging system, and that very system has melted their servers numerous times. it would make the search tool a lot more useful, and there's no reason that a tag database should make your system go haywire.
but the official database of manga is small compared to the user uploads, possibly if this is implemented then maybe we could extend that to the user uploads and possibly get something coherent from that section, instead of randomly sifting through for something that you want/are in the mood for

tags can be implemented to simplify search, instead of searching for a specific title, you could just search for "schoolgirl" or "lolicon" or "creampie" (ew >.<; ) or obviously whole series if you can't remember a specific doujin's name

I agree that there should be some sort of genre listed on the info section of each doujin. Not only does it help people find what they want, but it also helps them avoid stuff that they don't want to see, I can remember how many times I have been grossed out half way through a doujin.
