[Locked] Global Mods

I agree that given the sizable userbase that FAKKU! sports now, some more moderators are welcome. I think the main issue, as Kaimax mentioned, is not really about more moderators but moderators that can spend time on FAKKU! and deliver faster responses and appropriate actions.
Whether or not Jacob or Mattarat agrees, we shall see. Whether I'm a suitable candidate for a moderator position also remains to be seen.

Since people are deciding it's a good idea to nominate g-$, I won't mind as long as he isn't a fucking rulefag.

Perhaps one more global mod could be helpful. But then again, the report button already does wonders.Renovartio wrote...
They should be allowed to ban and unban. So they could get rid of pests, but if someone thinks they are being unrighteously ban, another mod could unban them.Lol what? That sounds like some really irresponsible moderation.
IMO what should happen is something like what we do on another forum I was a mod of: discuss among mods whether someone should be banned or not, and then have a thread (locked, of course) announcing who got banned, why, and for how long. Spammers/advertisers get banned automatically without the need for explanation, of course.

I am obviously the best candidate, but if I had to vote for someone else Penelopesays would be my choice.

I nominate myself as a candidate. I live by justice and I die by justice.ME 2011.
You have my vote.
Or you know, just promote the section mods to global ones. Either or is fine with me.

It's quite safe to say we won't get any more Global Mods. We might get a User Uploads mod, but if you guys keep pushing for one it's only going to deduct points from our book. We decide who our moderators will be.Just reposting this. I'll discuss it with the other members of staff to see if they think we should recruit more moderators/staff. I do have to stress though, the site's code still isn't 100% and some of us haven't had all of their moderating powers restored, for the time being please continue to report threads or posters that are violating rules/out of place etc.
If more staff/moderators are needed we, the staff, shall pick them without any interference or suggestions from the users.

Of course Sisami and I are the best choices. We are without a doubt the nicest and probably most unbiased of all the users. We never say anything to hurt anyone. You can't go wrong with Sisami or Longevity.

I think the more important point of this thread is that the Global Moderators should get the right to ban and unban users. There is no need to get more Global Moderators because the three Admins and all the Global Moderators are doing a perfect job keeping the site clean and safe. However, there are some things that cannot be stopped right away, but to stop those issues as fast as possible, there should be more people with the power to ban/unban, which would be a suitable right for the Global Moderators.
Also, if there is a Users Upload Moderator coming up, I suggest you check the works Flaser and lazyasschillypepper did. Though my suggestion is going to do little or no effect to choosing the new Moderator, please consider normal users' opinions, as they've also been observing other users' behaviors.

Agreed. At first I thought the amount of moderators needed to be increased, but is more that there should be an increased presence. But realistically, everyone has their own levels of life to attend to that comes before Fakku so having more moderators may be the only realistic solution.
Well like Matty said, it's up to the staff to choose anyway, but I'm sure some level of how the community reacts and thinks of individuals plays in who happens to be candidates and who happens to get chosen.

Hmm... looks like it is appraisal time on Fakku too, which coincides with mine in reality. :D
As Mattarat has mentioned, the staff members will eventually decide whether to appoint new Moderators. With regards to the ban function, Global Mods did use to have it in the past, but it was removed for some reason. I believe it serves as a deterrent to users intending to break the rules, but on the other hand, said power must not be abused either.
For those who know me, I speak of a fair system all the time, without double standards. The same can be said of appointing Moderators and wielding the ban function. They must be bestowed, without favouritism, upon someone who can perform his/her duties well.
No me...lol I kid i kid. I don't really care all that much about this. Usually my topics don't get deleted. Except my Meet & Greets...Gambler.
@ Longevity: I saw a couple of your posts stating that I deleted some of your threads. Performing a search, your thread is still at the meet and greet section, albeit locked, due to the flaming and insulting nature of certain posts.

Dude, don't even bother arguing because you'll never win.

The difference between locking and deleting a thread is a nuance of allowing the user to review what they did wrong.
