Well I don't think spamming will be that much of a problem, if there are users who are spamming just so they can have a fancy title next to their name then the admins or mods can just put some kind of limitation on them or something. I'm all for getting new title kind of gives me something to look forward too when I become an old fag but I'm not gonna spam threads just so I can get there faster. I think that it kind of does motivate people to post because it makes it into a game sort of except that its a really long one hopefully. Oh yeah and I didn't know that there were daily posting limitations.

Pretty colors aside (pointless IMHO) it would indeed be fun to have more titles. Still, there's no doubt that as long as post count alone would remain the requirement, some people would spam the hell out of the forum (or make a buttload of forced posts that would otherwise never come to pass) creating conflict and (in extreme cases) additional work for the staff.
If anything, I think above-elder titles should have some sort of additional requirements aside from the post count. Things that come to mind are being on the forums for a specified amount of time (a year for example) and/or having a certain amount of rep. There are still flaws to this though, especially in the rep department ...

I don't know. Makes me worried about an already high presence of elitism amongst some of the Elites and Elders. Give them a colored username on the list to make them look similar to the staff members of the size and their ego will swell to five times the normal size. ^_^:;

I always hated when people could change their name colors, or even had different name colors, they already have the titles, it's just dumb.


As for incentive, If they don't want to post here, then they don't post here. Simple as that :|

This is a cool Idea.

Another idea would be voted titles. For instance other users would vote for a selection of titles like depending on how many votes per title you get it would switch to that. Maybe you could even pick between what titles you want to have on your account. Limiting it to the highest voted ones. Then there could be even more special titles given to you for special reasons.

I think that would be pretty cool giving you the option to pick what title you want, yet still restricting you. Though that’s probably way to much work so it won’t happen just wanted to put it out there.

5000 posts is not much on a old active forum with alot of discussions going on.

I propose sticking to the old system and adding from there like such:

-new member - I don't consider anyone serious to stay unless the person has a post count of a 100 or more, which 100 becomes the base

FAKKU elite = 500 posts (100 x 5)
FAKKU elder = 1000 posts (500 x 2)
FAKKU expert = 4000 posts (1000 x 4)
FAKKU executor = 12000 posts (4000 x 3)

Or something like 500, 1000, 2500, 5000, 10000, and anything beyond that, you need a life. Only problem is that some of us (me included) would immediately clear the 2500 post count.

Similar to Ginichimaru09's idea, but only two new titles progressing in a logical manner. I haven't seen anyone with a post count higher than KloWn's, and he's only one to barely make it past 4000. Point is, the last two titles are damn near unreachable, but if you reach it, you definitely deserve a title worth your time and effort.

I think of him as an ubiquitous moderator, and I admit I just glance over his post count. Then again, I wonder where the guy went... or maybe I just missed him in action. Was busy the entire week with my summer session 3-hour long classes.

I was kind of thinking like:

500: Elite.
1000: Elder.
2000: Master.
5000: Shamen.
10000: Chieftan.

I don't think there's been a single good idea in this entire thread besides anyone who said "I don't care." I swear every time there's one of these "more titles" discussions the Admins go "yeah, ok we're pushing that back another 3 months out of spite." which...I think would make the current eta on new titles showing up in about 4 years from now. Honestly, the last thing we need is more titles based on post count (encourages spamming), rep (encourages favoritism bs), votes (same as the previous), or anything like that.

The best things we could get is something based on a minimum amount of post count and rep coupled with your join date or even better the admins just taking the time to pick out the people who have been here long enough and contributed enough to deserve a title. And in some ways we already have titles like that such as uploader and artist. I'd say we'd be better off without new titles entirely if I didn't somewhat agree it gets a little dull seeing the same titles forever. But that argument is only about as good as arguing for a new background color for the same reasons, so it doesn't really mean much.

Edit: (Warning, not really on topic) Tsurayu would you shut up about the elitism stuff already? You're one of the only people I see around here who thinks that they're in some way inherently better than others. You act like you're in some way superior to the fictional elitist who are out to ruin everyone's fun and tell people what to do. Grow up already and face the facts that sometimes people have a different opinion than you do and that sometimes other people agree with them.

@Ramsus: I think the majority of the people here are encouraging the idea of title creation due to the fact that many users here are either in the Elite or Elder status, which in a sense devalues any meaning attributed to the two titles. Raze mentioned before that it supposed to take a long time to reach Elder status, hence the "elder", but I think one to three months of dedication will easily allow one to reach it.

I don't believe will this encourage post spamming because gaining another couple thousand of posts isn't something that can be done with outright spamming even if you tried. I'm nearing 3000 posts, but this took about 9 months of dedication to FAKKU! forums to reach there (not counting my three month hiatus). Not many people complain about me making spam posts because I make sure there's some quality to them.

I also believe that users are posting such high post requirements simply because we know that it will take time not spamming to reach there. Rep is broken, and we all know that, but post count isn't, and those who've been on the forums long enough knows whose posts are worth reading and those who aren't worth reading. Those who've been on the forums long enough should be recognized for their steadfast efforts (I'm not implying that they don't have lives).

Whatever, I'm just throwing this out there. And we all know what happened to the custom titles idea... which in retrospect wasn't great at all.

This is one idea I don't agree with. The current system is fine, and we need more titles for above the 1000 posts mark. It doesn't have to be like other forums, but I think the 500/1000 mark is good enough to weed out the non-serious users, but for those who are serious, it isn't enough anymore.



Some of us are proposing rather high post counts that stroking your e-penis isn't the issue at all. Elitism stems from the fact of being on the site for a long time to know what's accepted/right and what isn't. I don't believe for a single moment that it has to do with our post count titles.



I like the system as it is now. Red and bold titles are more than enough. This isn't skittles here.
