images not appearing?...

I'm 99% sure this has been talked before, but since I didnt see it I'ma ask it myself.


I quite often find images that people post but I can see, like that /\
Why is it? I can't even see the link of the picture if I put the mouse on top of it. Is it because it's a particular image server that doesn't like fakku? Or do you guys see it, and maybe the problem is in my computer?...

I'd be glad if someone helps me out. :)

edit: Hey gibbous, is this what you wrote about in your topic Hyperlinking Bug?

This is because people consistently fail to upload images to an image host that permits hotlinking (sadpanda, etc...).
For instance, the guy in your example was trying to hotlink an image from http://zip.4chan.org/a/src/1244523855368.jpg. I've seen many others trying that with images from gelbooru or danbooru. That does not and will never work - people simply need to up and learn to use image hosts ^^;.

Has nothing to do with fakku, nor a server not "liking" fakku - they simpy don't want their bandwidth abused ^.~

and no - that is not the bug I was talking about in the other topic. That bug results in a different outcome - namely the tag not even being parsed.

Is it the same for avatars as well? I've seen it happen to King's avatar.

Slightly different. His avatar location is set to https://t.fakku.net/assets/avatars/, which of course is not a valid image.

For avatars just save the pic to your computer and upload it from there then no problem.
