Since many fakku members have given sensitive information in various threads on the forums (pic, name, country, IM/e-mail, etc.) I was thinking that it would be a really good ieda to ask the search engines to stop crawling fakku
There is e.g. a thread on email and IM of fakku members, which will come up if you google one of their IM id or emails on google.
I know the material on the forums are public, but there should be no reason that fakku should need to be indexed by google.

It's advertisement. As a forum user, it is your job to know that any information you divulge on the internet is subject to being universally, and easily accessible. Granted that doesn't mean that we should make it all the easier to access privy information, but it is beneficial to Fakku.
Simply don't mention anything that you wouldn't want any random person to know.

If it isn't indexed by google, do know that many of the uploads will also not show up in the searches, thus we lose potential members who would be able to benefit from finding a safe place to d/l these things.

uploads are in very specific sections, so I am arguing that letting Google and Co crawl fakku should be the exception, not the rule.
I do not see anything besides uploads where fakku benefits from being crawled, actually I think that it might scare some users away if they know everything can be searched via google.

Google indexing FAKKU is incredibly important to the site being successful. Simple, do not reveal information about yourself that you wouldn't want the public to know. I could block Google from indexing certain topics or forums, but it's more trouble than it's worth.
