Manga/Doujin user ratings?

Um, this may have been suggested before, but how about a rating system for users to rate the H-manga on FAKKU? Then in addition to sort by newest/english/series, add a sort by user's rating option?

It's hard to rate porn... it's pretty subject to individual bias whether you'll like it or not. For example, 50% of users might give an NTR manga 0/5, while the other half might say 5/5. It's a matter of taste.

Art style could be rated, but even what some people consider to be horrid drawings might be enjoyed by others. Thus, people seeking "good manga" could be deterred from what they may have liked, due to seeing a poor rating on it.

That said, in the mean time, check the comments to get an idea of group consensus.

Pretty much this, even while reading the comments I see a lot of bad taste, I guess just look at how many favorites it has as well.

Ah, yes, of course! Favorites are always a good pointer.

Subjectivity doesn't help much, if there was voting and rating, people will always push their biased opinion.

Just leave it as it is.

Every people have their own taste and being subjective sometime is not a good idea.

I guess it's better to just leave it be.
You interested to the doujin, you read, and you like it.

That's the point which is matter.

yeah, like Gizgal said, there WILL BE, some users that will have so much time, that they will start rating doujins that they didn't like to begin with the lowest rating.

I was also gonna suggest a Like/Dislike option, like on YT, but seems like it'll be the same as the ratings option.

So what do you think "Add to My Favorites" is ?

Actually I have been looking on how many users added a particular doujin on their favorites list. If you think of it, it can be similar to the user ratings you are referring to.

difference is, the Favorite function is a "positive" function, there's no way people would spam.

Yeah, but when you sort by Most Favorites, it just shows all the same old mangas/doujins. Maybe with a rating system, it'll be easier to sort the new doujins? Just a suggestion ..

From what i see, Fakku only use 1 filter when searching,
Like most favorite, most popular, sort by date and etc. We cannot use sort by date and the most favorite at once.

If they can compete with the awesome old doujins that already been fav'd by a lot of users. There won't be any problem, right ?

Low rated doujin would be ignored - no doujin should be ignored...

Suggestion: If you are looking for a good doujin, check out a users favorites.

Art system, it's basically the same.

If it's still involves "Like or dislike" subjectivity is always result.

The Favorite system is only using a "Like" option, so it's a matter of popularity like said.

I does, but you chose who's personal preference you are going to look at.

The problem is, if 70% of people on Fakku do not like a doujin with tentacles, that release will get a bad rating. However, someone who does have such fetishes would not know if the bad rating was because it contained tentacles, or because it was just a bad doujin.

If you instead look at the favorites of a user who does like tentacles, you are getting some sort of reference as to quality of the doujin.

Art style is again subjective and it is hard to quantify anything that is subjective. Did the users think the art looked like it was done by a four year old with crayons, or because they just don't care for that particular style?

I would suggest a system where there was no rating, but instead where a user can say if they "liked" something, similar to "likes" on Facebook. That way, there will not be people "disliking" or giving negative reviews to certain genres just because it isn't their cup of tea.

However, this system already sort of exist in the ability to sort manga by "Most Favorited".

Hmm .. Example, does it matter to the tentacle lovers that a tentacle rape manga gets a low score? I don't think they'd care. Maybe the ratings SHOULD be based on the majority?



Ahh, that sounds good too. I just want a way to sort the newer mangas. The prob now is whenever i sort by Most Favorites, I always see the same old manga there, the page hardly changes at all.
