I have noticed that the user uploads section no longer needs a registration to the forums to access the uploads. Was this planned or did you just not know about this Jacob? I for one am against not needing a registration to access that part of the forum. In my opinion if you want free shit at least take the time to register to the forums/site that gives you stuff for free.

Reminds me on the Forced Registration discussion:
https://www.fakku.net/viewtopic.php?p=258931#258931
If i remember it right Jacob pointed out, that he is against the Idea of people being forced to register. It`s against the Idea of Fakku for being a free Hentai/Dounjshi Site.
Personally i don`t see any benefits from making the User Upload Section,a Registered Users Section only again.
Where is the Difference between a registered User with 0 Posts and a Visitor?

While I'm not necessarily against making User Uploads registration-only, it's not much of a wall. It takes no time to register at all. It takes more time to go through the threads and find links.

Thanks for pointing this out. The User Uploads section has always been registered users only, and I will fix it to make sure it stays that way.
The Manga and Doujinshi forum is usually left open to guess just because we do a lot of promoting for the C74/C75/etc topics.
And I'm wrestling with the idea of letting you set "Registered Users Only" when you create new topics. Thoughts?

Of course, it has to be totally free for everyone but damn, if someone really want it, putting some effort to get it won't do any bad.
I know I'm quite not the kind of guy that should say this but, something like 30 posts is more than okay, or maybe, a Greet and Meet post and 15 posts, would show a proof of your good will and let you access to the User Upload threads.
For the idea of setting your own "register barrier", I don't really know. I guess this could lead to a few abuses, so ... Once more, have a good enough amount of posts to access this option, or something like this.

Many forums use a post requirement to access the entire uploads section. Having the ability for a user to set a post requirement to enter a thread they have made is a great idea. If they want what is in that thread then they can work to meet the requirements. If they don't wanna work then they can try another thread. Crimson already does something like that with holding his links and only giving them to those that PM him. Having the thread itself hide the links would simplify that process.

Its best to keep things simple.

Though I don't want to seem like I'm completely disagreeing with animeholic1 (which I'm not) I agree, some forums have been seriously messed up cause of that. Simple is better.

The only way a forum can get messed up from something like that is if it is under modded. Which FAKKU is under modded. I just don't see why it's such a big deal to have a post count needed when it is the norm for just about every other forum. Fakku has more links reported then any other site that I have been to by a big margin. The sites that have less links reported either have a post count or rep needed.
