The audacity of some people... my question is why would anyone want to steal some other site's links when it's all for FREE? Why the extra effort? shakes head*

the only issue with an ip ban is that he cam simply reset his modem to generate a new ip address.
and since is the web anything posted can be copied so long as a person has access, most likely the only thing one can do is to be vigilant, and remove certain accounts before the damage spreads too much. unfortunately, this isn't like a private torrent tracker where one can easily ban people for breaking certain restrictions.
oh and sorry to ask this, but why would posting the links elsewhere result in a flag for removal? is it because of the number of ppl dling?

No, but when it is within the community, chances of being flagged are less as people here appreciate it, whereas when it reaches an external location a lot more people see it, people who may not be so nice...etc
As for banning, that's not really going to work, if anything we need to rework the way user-uploads forum works.. not really sure how at this point though... I'll talk to Jacob about it some later this week, see if we can come up with something.

hmm could those whom links got flagged post the links here, like kaimax? and on the original upload post redirect the readers here. that way we could have people have the files on their hdd reuploading the files.
this is not necessarily a solution, but would help the recovery process, as i'm trying with hinata bokko uped by mechgouki.
oh and should people actually start doing this, be sure to compile a list on the op thread otherwise it would get messy.
oh and a nonsequistor, if they guy is truly posting from hungry you could ip ban anything from hungary, and hopefully he doesn't know how to use a proxy.
