Online Viewing Dimensions

I wanted to throw out the idea of having the viewer showing the original sizes of the pages for releases, up to a certain extent (a cap) but I figured there may be a reason why we don't have this.

Would it be really hard on Fakku to allow the cap of the page dimensions to be increased?

For example, E-Hentai keeps it at its original size:

Then on Fakku it appears like this:

I'm just a fan of reading things at normal size, but I didn't know if there was a huge tax on the site for people to view it online .-.

Yeah yeah, I download them as well, I'm just suggesting a site improvement.

It seems like a very good idea, however, it's probably limited like so to keep it consistent or to make sure that the picture doesn't take too much time loading. However, Fakku does have to have ads in order to have money to run this site. And the banner probably cannot be edited unless by company. So the picture is probably is limited in size due to ad space.

But this isn't an official answer, but my own opinion.

When the view online page was setup the majority of users viewed FAKKU in 1024x768 resolution, and the current view online page fits that perfectly. Though at the moment the most used resolution is 1280x800 followed immediately by 1024x768. So I could see us increasing the dimensions of the view online page sometime soon.

I prefer to find the perfect balance between image dimension and filesize, and I think we currently have that. A lot of users browse on mobile devices and iPads so filesize is very important.

Personally I like the current dimensions and I don't see a need to increase it, but if there were enough people demanding an increase I would do so.

It'd be nice to maybe see an option in our profile that can change at what resolution we want to see the images at.

Like maybe have both 1024x768 and 1280x800 as options, instead of forcing all of Fakku to conform to one.

Well, overall, it's up to the release group to what they make available. If you want a choice in sizes, I'd suggest direct downloads from their own sites.

The online view standardization is nice, and provides enough quality to be enjoyed and legible. If you want the best, always download. ;)

Thanks for the info Jake, that makes sense if the majority of users have a specific dimension for their monitors. I use 1680 x 1050 so I suppose that's why the current layout seems smallish to me.
