Open in New Tab OR Apple + Click doesn't "really" work

If I try to open a new Manga by clicking "Apple + Click" (on my Mac) it opens it in a new tab, but it also opens it in the tab that I'm in.
I've tried this with 4 browsers and they all all do the same thing.
The same thing happens in Windows.
I can't be the first person be annoyed by this.
Is there a reason for this or is it just an error?
