Post requirements.

Word that. He's lucky that Gambler deleted it all and gave him a last chance.
On topic, I also don't agree with this. If a guy subscribes just to request something, as long as he's coherent, it's okay. He just might become active on the forums, who knows.
What I don't like are the incoherent ones. That make requests named "please help" and give little to none information about what they want. (don't give me the non native english crap cause it's bullshit)
So yeah, no post requirement.

The guy who spammed was just a spammer. It didn't seem like he wanted to be a part of the community at all. I wouldn't hold all new members in the same class as him.
If new members do annoying things, I think it's fine to call them out on it, but we should also try to show them that we would value them as members of the community if they tried to shape up. I think there is absolutely no reason to say, "Get out and never come back" to a user that seems like he/she may be a decent member.

I was about to make a thread on this.
Perhaps at least 15 on the Request section so that when someone actually bothers to help, they can rep.

Yup, this idea would lead to an insane amount of spam. There can't really be any requirements for request. Post requirement = spam and a rep requirement is biased, as would be a join date requirement.
Actually I deleted them all ;_;

I thought I had seen a post from gambler saying he had deleted the threads and had sent the guy a pm. My bad, Matt. D:

You know I managed to get a 100 posts in a day, I don't think putting a low post requirement is going to help, it'll only increase the number of brainless posts and them deciding to leave as fast as they get what they want.

To prevent any misunderstanding and tension between staff members, I guess everyone did their part, including members of the community. If I am not wrong, Mattarat (and/or the other staff) must have cleared quite a bit of spam by said member, with me deleting some of them in between. The report function worked very well in the above situation.
I apologize if my actions led to any misunderstanding.

I gonna post my sugestion.
There should be a requirement or something else that people can't just walk into forums like the nosebleed one.
The nosebleed section is a section for FAKKU users to share their pics and shouldn't be allowed to be stolen be some one time leecher. Some of the pics i found in there are very very hard to get and i bet the people who aquired them spent a lot of time getting them.

I hope you guys realize that the very same people who request stuff and vanish are also usually the same people who fill the Requests section with repeat requests. This has been a recurring problem... and I remember that incident where FAKKU! went down due to a massive amount of spam because of a post requirement. As for making requirements for other sections, the same reason applies as mentioned before.
The only feasible solution I can think of for now is to let Teclo have more disretionary powers by having the ability to completely delete request threads if they are nothing but a repeated/completed thread. That might curb some of the junk threads in that section.

This I have to disagree with limiting sharing the pics is the whole point if we limited it to fakku users only it wouldn't really be the whole point. It's hard to find some pics because people don't post them enough. Also some users may find pics here and that makes them stay so they can find more.

Also, just because a person has to work very hard to find a picture, that does not mean that he/she owns the picture and should have the right to decide who gets to keep it and who doesn't.
If a person doesn't want "leechers" to see a picture because he spent hours finding it, or maybe even paid for it, then he shouldn't put it online in the first place. And maybe he should remember that he did not create the picture himself and does not have any right to be a dick about sharing the picture.

I don't want to be a bother to anyone, but what exactly happened when there was a post requirement for the request section? I keep seeing people saying there was a ton of spam, but I don't really get it.

I don't remember if the spam caused the server to crash, but it was real bad.

Where did all the spam come from? All of the new members/lurkers wanting the admins to get rid of the post requirement?

I honestly wish I could have seen that....although it must of given Jacob quite the migraine to fix everything....
