Post Without Bumping

I was searching around Danbooru and saw this cool feature next to the post button there is a "Post without Bumping" option.
There at the bottom.
I thought this was a great Idea so people could still post in old threads but not have to necrobump the thread itself. I think it would be a great addition to Fakku, so please discuss and give your opinion on the matter.

But why would you post in a thread if you know people won't see it? What good would it be posting in a thread that's buried in the depths of the forums. Might as well not post at all.
Give me an example of a situation in which this feature would be good/helpful. I might be wrong, but I really can't think of any situation.

I thought the same thing as Kuroneko and Maxiart, why would you want to make a post if no one is going to read it, and as Kuroneko said, i can't think of any situation when you would like to do it but if you could give an example where it would be useful please say it because i can't think of any.

This would be great. A great use of this would be whenever harmonian makes a thread, you could use this "post without bumping" to tell him it's a bad thread, but not trouble the forums with it by bumping. It's just like sage on 4chan.

Get Jinxed
@TMS That really is a good example but i think it's going to take more then that to convince Jacob.

If this feature gets implemented I foresee someone going to all sorts of old threads and insulting the threads or the people in them. With the exception of TMS's example I don't see a good use for it and I do see more than one abuse of it.

I really don't see the problem here; if they do go back you can either a.) report it when you see it, or b.) no one will see it. No big deal, eh?

One big problem - would sage posts count towards post count?
If they do, then someone could sage all the threads on the 58th page of Random, saying absolutely nothing positive, and their post count would skyrocket. And no one would see the posts, because who's going to look at the 58th page of Random?
I've thought about how nice a sage feature would be, but it's really not practical on a forum. If there were some way to only sage posts on the first page of a section, it might work though.

This would be super helpful in Nosebleed where toooooo many threads are necrobumped for some dumbass reason. I'm sure Lazychili would be happy with this function. Lol.

I see no reason for this function whatsoever. Bumping threads is part of forum culture, and so is shameless (read: dumb) necrobumping. And like Ramsus said, I see more of abuse than use for it.

Can you please explain some of this abuse? And as for the post count thing, I heard post count matters.

@TMS: It's easy to post something insulting or whatnot and no one would know. Therein lies the problem - the fact that no one knows can lead to irresponsible behavior such as posting flames or trolling and getting away with it, and if found, can lead to more e-drama than necessary. I feel that the potential e-drama from this feature is not worth the effort of implementing, especially when I really don't find the practicality of said feature, i.e. the act of unnoticing.

And if no one notices, what is the harm? They make themselves giggle, and no one is the wiser. Don't see the problem.

Still, I'd rather notice it and have it brought to my attention so that it can be used as an example than leave it unnoticed.

All you Elders and Elites probably know more about this than I do, but here's my opinion.
I think putting a "Post without bumping" feature would be good, as long as the posts arent counted. Because honestly, some threads dont need to be bumped. This would also stop necrobumping on irrelevent, old threads. And even though there would probably be some losers trolling 3 month old threads, I dont think it would affect anyone, because nobody is probably going to see it. And i think these trolls would probably use a regular post anyway, seeing as how the only reason theyre posting is to get a reaction.
But, with the posts not counting, and with nobody seeing it, this feature probably wouldnt be used very often. Still, it would be helpful in some situations like previous users have stated.
I think that about sums up my opinion :)

Would be a good idea for commenting in stupid threads we do not want bumped.
Should not count towards post count or you will see someone with o9k posts within a week, but then again post count shouldn't matter.
Will not stop necrobumping since most of the people who do so are retarded anyway.

My thoughts exactly, good sir.

Well necrobumping seems to happen because 1) someone finds an old thread that is exactly the subject they wanted to discuss and posts in it in which case they wouldn't sage it because they want to discuss it or 2) to be annoying so they still wouldn't sage it.
I agree with g-money's assertion that it would cause a lot of drama if someone went around badmouthing someone else for 20 pages of random or something and then the person they were insulting found out. It's not that there's a problem if nobody finds out but there's no way of preventing them from doing so. If you really want to make comments nobody will see just say them out loud to yourself. You'll have accomplished the same thing without the potential of annoying anyone else.
As for post count mattering, it doesn't. And everyone who has been here for a couple months knows this. Which is of course the problem. The new people don't know and run around spamming the forum thinking that being an elite or elder means something. This would be worse/better with sage posts. We would notice a lot less spamming because they could literally just go back and fill up an entire thread with posts about how they love waffles. Then we'd have pretty much removed the entire point of having titles at all since every new person would be an elder the first day they show up. And of course if anyone ever went back to that thread there would be pages of meaningless spam. Now imagine that tons and tons of threads were filled up like this. Every time someone necrobumped something it would be mostly filled with spam.
