what? my point was that i didn't leave people hanging, i responded to post made to me and i left those which i replied to.Guess I neglected to mention that you did not leave a satisfying answer as a reply. I understand as a mod you have to avoid confrontation, and I actually respect how you've avoided most of it until this point. But answers with less ambiguity would have been nice.

What does deleting post which are off topic have to do with common sense,...To say the least, everything. I question your common sense of thinking that PyP thread would survive without comments. In fact, I believe PyP was started with photo comments as a main objective. Of course I understand the need to reduce spam, and I understand I'm not Jacob, but if he moved it into random while commenting on other's photos, most everyone with a deductive ability would get the idea that they're free to comment. Backed up by the fact that there is no mention of a ban against posting on another's photos by Jacob nor by any other moderators (who also commented freely on photos) until you came along.

You got the answer I am going to give, nothing more, nothing less. If i left ambiguity in my reply then it was intended. I'm sorry you are unsatisfied with the response but it's all I'm going to give.

The survival of the thread is not my concern, it was moved by Jacob because of how I've policed it up to this point. It's not ban worthy, not sure why you thought that was the in the cards, the only real consideration users need to keep in mind is the safety of their post, if they don't want it deleted it must be kept on topic; why would that be worth a ban? The thread was moved because I was made a moderator and was the only one who kept it in line.

The reason it looks like you're on a crusade is that this thread is not about my actions, nor what I have previously removed. The point of the thread is to ask Jacob what the rules are, or to come up with a new idea; not whether I abused my power or exercised poor judgment. If you want to avoid looking like you want my head perhaps you should stay on topic.
The point is I don't believe I was wrong in my judgment and unless you want to discuss the topic of this thread rather than my judgment then I am going to stop discussing the matter with you.

I think everyone needs to chill. Just put it back in IB so people can talk about what they want about the photos. That way when someone like myself hasn't been on for over a week, I can comment on the photos I missed during the past week and not be told to stay on topic.
The 2 thread thing is stupid. Jacob's been working on merging and changing forum sections to make it less confusing for people. What new person is going to know 'oh, I can post my pictures here, but then I'll go in IB and post my response in there'
I vote move it back to IB and everyone calm down ;| Christ

Im for allowing restriction-free posting on the Post Your Pics thread. People post pictures because they want them to be commented on. If everyone is scared of posting feedback, then nobody will want to post any pictures.
I actually agree with Ziggy. Just move it to IB and dont worry about it. All you have to do is give people a warning and they'll move somewhere else to make idle chat...
And if anyone is making unrelated posts, then just delete the posts and tell them to get out.

I think fewer people would actually post their pictures then if it was moved to IB due to the overall nature of the sub (which might scare away potential posters). You know what I'm getting at.

It was always in IB up until just a little while ago. It obviously was looked at by enough people to make that many posts in there

Ive gotta go with Ziggy again on this one.
Its been fine up until now, just enforce the rules and if someone is disobeying, report them.

Never understood why it was moved out of IB in the first place. Sure it's a little more serious than the shit that usually goes on in IB, but at least there people can freely discuss pictures.
I see no reason why people shouldn't be allowed to comment on pictures. The whole point of posting pictures is for shits and giggles. Seems kind of pointless if people only posted their pictures just so people could see what they look like.
I don't see any reason comments shouldn't be made. As long as it's still related to the picture itself and not going on a tangent and starting a conversation or anything.

It should stay in random.
Just put down some rules like:
-no slandering
-no conversations
-If someone makes a comment that you would like to discuss, don't turn it into a chat thread, that's what PM's are for
Not telling you guys how to do your jobs, just throwing out my two cents.

I think there needs to be a moderate amount of discussion within a "Post pictures of yourself" thread. People who post pictures of themselves would often like at least a reply or two. It is true that it could get out of hand, so you could try and limit the amount of comment posts (ie, posts without pictures) that are allowed after each picture.
This is the compromise that was reached on 2 other forums I was a member of, and it worked out rather nicely.

3 pages of unnecessary garbage. Just do what the mods say and leave it at that. It's not that hard of concept.

I think that's kinda what we have going, I give a day or two to comment but if you start talking about things that are beyond 3 days it's pushing it. We really just need jake to clear up what he wants.

This is most likely my fault, I told Waar to make sure the topic stayed on topic, but I didn't not specify what exactly on topic meant. Replies in the post your pics are allowed as long as they stay on topic.
Some examples of staying on topic:
Person 1: Picture
Person 2: That is an awesome picture
Person 3: Haha you're hair looks stupid, but I think you're cool anyway
Person 1: Yeah it was all over the place that day
Person 4: That reminds of this picture of me I took last week
Some examples of not staying on topic
Person 1: Picture
Person 2: Look at this cat
Person 3: I am eating Reese's Puffs
Person 4: desu desu desu
Example 1 is allowed, Example 2 is not. It would appear that in this case the rules were enforced much more strictly than they needed to be.

You made a serious thread amusing, while still getting a point across. I love you Jacob...
Although I do believe this should be moved back to IB... It should just be stickied. And the rules should be made known to anyone postig in the thread.

and now that that's settled, we can all move on.
edit: PD feel free to pm me if you want to discuss my choice of deletions.

I've just stopped posting there all together. Not worth the time or allowing it to become a "controversy" for me.

While I admit this helps, it really only points out the two extremes. What about something along the middle?
Person 1: Picture
Person 2: You remind me of my uncle, what with the greay hair and all.
Person 3(most likely Space): What're you talking about? He's sexy. <3
Person1: Lol, thanks Space (person 3), @ (Person 2): I'm not od. :|

Well if it's not off topic, I don't see a problem. It's up to the people of FAKKU to use common sense and post accordingly. Everyone on FAKKU is supposed to be of 18 years of age or older, so I'm pretty sure that a community of adults can understand this.
Like Jacob said, it's alright to post comments, just don't go off topic. And like Tegumi said, some people post so they can read the replies.
If something seems to be sorta hit and miss when it comes to being on topic, that's when it's up to the moderator to well, moderate.
