Because people aren't thinking enough before they post as is.As true as this is the "Quick reply" is really useful, what we're using atm is pretty much the equilient to the Advanced reply-function on most forums.

I've brought this up in the past twice, one by agreeing with Ryuji, and two by mentioning it again. I haven't heard a proper response from the admins, so I don't know if this is a declined idea or that it's an idea that's been tossed around with not enough attention. I'm all for it because sometimes I want to fire off a snappy reply that doesn't require a huge text box and the extra page loading. It really is efficient, and it's a feature that I fully support.

It doesn't really mean much to me either way. It isn't like the absence of the Quick Reply box discourages members from spamming, those that troll and spam do so and will continue to do so regardless of its presence. At the same token though, it isn't very hard to actually click "Reply" and just do it. :P

By "Quick-Reply" do you mean those short text messages that you could just click on to say what you want rather than having to type something up? If so I don't think that it's really necessary, people always put alot of thought into what they are saying before they actually post something, so it isn't required.

What's interesting is that a quick reply feature is already in place when you want to comment the FAKKU! uploaded h-manga/doujin content. So I don't see what's wrong in bringing it to the forums.

I never really understood the use of two reply buttons, but whatever floats your boat!

Really it isn't any shorter than simply just clicking on Reply and you don't get all of the editing tools on Quick Replies usually and quoting is harder to do.

The main and most grave difference is that with the normal reply, users at least have the chance of seeing the THINK BEFORE YOU POST box, whereas with the quick reply they do not.

Totally.
This has been brought up half a dozen times by now. Each time, Jacob has said "Sounds good. I'll get to it.", and promptly ejected it from his mind.
Oh, well. Guy's busy, what can I say?

But won't a quick reply mean more meaningless, thoughtless or useless posts? I don't know if people have taken note of it, but over the past few days Fakku has had loads of posts that seemed useless and random. There were even threads that seemed to be useless or random (yet placed outside of incoherent babbling and random). They didn't seem to have any effort put into them. Not just the aforementioned threads, but posts period.
If we're aiming to comply to the basic rules:
how will a quick reply contribute to the rules being followed? I think, people's post will get even worse. But don't attack me or "get your panties in a bunch", I'm simply expressing an opinion.
Shouldn't we be happy that Jacob fixed the forums already? The speed has definitely increased. Though there are errors, the rate at which pages can't be displayed has decreased.. and overall, things have gotten better.
Edit/Addition: If Jacob wants to add the feature he will. If he chooses to ignore this suggestion each time someone brings it up, there must be a reason.

I don't see why the community should miss out on a great feature just because we having a few idiots going around making useless posts, because they won't give a shit about the rules whether or not they see a sign with 'em.
The quick reply is a standard feature on pretty much all forums, and they haven't drowned in spam or useless posts, and if alot of spam indeed do occur then just let the mods of that section do their job and ban the dumbass.

Good argument. Yeah, overall it depends on the people. I suppose if the mods wanna do it/Jacob wants to do it, it's up to them. And as you said, if people use it wrong and spam and such.... the mods will just have some banning to do. Eh, but as of late, banning doesn't seem to happen.

Ah that would be quite convenient and I'm all for making my posting on the forums much easier and faster, but as everyone else is saying its up to the admins. Its probably best to wait till they finish any other additions/bugs they may be working on for the site. And as for spammers/trolls being a problem it seems that it won't really make a difference.

I don't know, could just be me thinking it, but I don't think having the Quick Reply would really affect the amount of spamming or trolling we see on the site.
