Re-direct to the Rules and FAQS thread.

This is what I'm suggesting:
Every time someone registers an account to this site, they would automatically get re-directed to the rules and faqs thread. As I've mentioned in some other threads, I joined because of Mote mote and am very happy I did. But for a long time I didn't know the rules or the rep system for that matter...
All of a sudden one day after getting 15 posts I saw this number under everyone's icon (the old forum layout) and a +/- and my reaction was "what the hell is that". Eventually I figured that it's a "way" of thanking people for uploads and such. But I learned of that SEVERAL months after joining...I initially didn't care at all about the forums, MY reason for registring an account was so I could vote for my favorite girl and hope that she would win.
BASICALLY, if new users get re-directed to the "rules and faqs" thread as soon as they sign up, they might read it and learn how things work around here before they start posting and making threads, what to do and what NOT to do...or they might not read it. Still, I don't think this idea is bad, there's nothing to lose and I feel it could make things better for everyone. It's worth at least trying...right?

Aren't you supposed to read em anyways?Well like I wrote, I didn't...for several months. I'm pretty sure there are registered members at this moment who didn't either. This could "make them" read it.

Well it would have some effect by making them read the rules. It could work but then again some others would just skip it. Like the user agreement forms for registering other crap.

I don't know. Anyone who is going to read the rules is going to look for them, and find them rather easily in this forum, and those that don't are just going to ignore the rules if it gets thrown in their face as they join anyway.
I'll admit when I first joined I didn't bother to read them for a couple of weeks. I just thought "Meh, it is going to be the same monotonous rules as every other adult-oriented site. Why bother?" Then I finally did to see what specific rules were unique to this site, but even then I think I could have gotten the gist of this site without having once looked at them. Unfortunately, perhaps, there are a lot of people who think the same way. In that sense, it really just makes it a waste of Jacob's time to set that up.

If it were me I probably would of just skipped it like that user agreement stuff. It might not be as long as that but honestly I wouldn't like to waste my time reading something when I could of been fapping to something ;).

The User Agreement Stuffs? I Never Read Them. I Mean I Know The Basic Rules And All. But Thats All I Need To Know... I Think...
If People Get Re-Directed To A Page That Has Only Has Like 4 Sentences Of Basic Rules That Has More Of A Chance Of Being Read. But What Do I Know?

No, he's talking about the forums rules, things you can and cannot do. I believe this is a great idea, as the rules thread is in a forum that people don't visit very often.

Indeed. A simple and easy to understand guide on how fakku works would be nice (like be nice, be coherent, what is rep, fakku titles, etc). I wish I had such a thing when I joined.

I was also one of these people. I generally have a bad attention span when reading anything, so I didn't notice the forum rules until several weeks in, when I was reading carefully. xD (and yes, for some reason it's harder for me to notice stickied threads)

Hmm maybe say something like if you are going to be posting on the forums you must read/know these rules or something like that. Then maybe it'll give the user some incentive to actually read it if he was deciding to be a part of the community and post on the forums, in my opinion at least.

You had to scroll down a small box that contained the rules in a shortened version which would allow you to click the box for I accept.
Get the user before they even post for the first time.

Some programs also require you to scroll the contract all the way to the bottom so you can install it. But that never made me wanna read it. I don't think it'll make any difference.

Sure but I meant for when new users are signing up for the site that it shows up like that.

A strange idea just struck me. As there have been a number of complaints about the pop-up ads recently, we could have a pop-up rules and FAQs page, after a particular user has registered on Fakku. Then again, I am not sure if it will catch the attention of the user as much as it does anywhere else.
Of course, programming or coding may be an issue, so such an idea may be difficult to implement.
