Regarding the signatures...

Now than... The thing that is slightly bothering me is that the signature is limited to 255 characters. Now I am well aware of that there needs to be a limit, but wouldn't it be possible to limit the maximum file size or just advance the limit of characters a bit?
I know that this isn't number one priority and I rather stumbled across it, when a second picture link I wanted to include in a spoiler was too long for my signature :(
I think that's all for the moment, if I remember something else, I'll edit my post :D

Yeah, there are a few threads about this already. Bottom line, Jacob thinks 255 is a good limit, so don't count on it being changed anytime soon.

If you did "ignore user" just imagine how many conversations would become completely confusing because you wouldn't be able to see their posts.

Out of curiousity, why do so many people need so many characters for a signature? I think one image or two and a link or quote is fine, no need to put more.

I think one image or two and a link or quote is fine, no need to put more.Because image-link BBCode takes up a lot of characters. Between my link to the Fakku MAL Chapter and the image link to my MAL profile I've taken up like +240 characters. I had to edit, and fiddle around just to get the text on there that mentions my waifus.
The only thing that bothers me is having a character limit may deter from having multiple images and text in your signature, but it does nothing to curb the nasty habit of people having giant +200 high pixels in their signature. I don't care if you have ten different images in your signature, but as long as it isn't huge, or rather if it is you spoil it, then it should be fine.

A possible solution may be TinyURL.
It allows you to take a long address and make it short.
For example, the pic in Eranikum's signature is:
http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/hh214/Eranikus/Yuuko.jpg
Using TinyURL, I can make that:
http://tinyurl.com/yzcp99e
Really cuts down on the characters, huh?

you can't really cut image links, cuz you can't put that image into [img] tags (it won't recgonize it since it doesn't end into .jpg/.jpeg/.png/.gif or other imageformat
But other purposes like the link for Penguim Musume Heart [ONA] in my sig.

Ah, yeah. I had a stupid moment. Thanks for posting the right info.
I guess TinyURL would only be good for hyperlinks attacked to images, like if you want people to be able to click on an image and go to a site.
The only thing I can think of that may make image urls shorter is to rename the images to something short (though they won't have an effect on all image-hosting sites) or try to find an image-hosting site that creates smaller links.

Shaggy stole my answer and oh my there are so many of these threads it's getting slightly annoying. People really need to learn about the search function, though that's a dream that will never come true.
