Reputation "+" and "-" inversed?

The plus sign to the left and minus to the right? Shouldn't it be the other way around? I nearly reduced somebody's reputation because I wanted to up it.

It's "wrong" because I'm sure 99% of the users here are from a society that reads from left to right, alphabeticaly and numericaly. Hence why my brain told me to click on the icon to the right of the reputation value in order to "increase" it. I was nearly had. But I can live with it.

Probably because when I think of reputation, I don't think of the number line taught in math class. In fact, I never think of numbers that way, in terms of a line, with negatives to the left, zero in the middle, and positives to the right.
Anyways, as long as the person pays attention, it doesn't matter which side it's on.
