It is possible to sort images by a specific fetish, and I think it would be really handy if the same feature were added to the manga section. Users could tag manga for the fetishes that appear in them. Doing so would make it a lot easier to find the kind of smut that turns you on.

A tag system is yet to be implemented (which would cover the fetish thing), but they're working on it.

This is an excellent idea. Sometimes you're just in the mood for something fairly specific and this tag system could be used to steer away from things you don't favour as well.

just to add onto the tag system. Make it so only a handful of users can edit the tags. Every system I have seen where everybody can edit is you get 1,000 inane tags and only a dozen good ones.

Exactly. And avoid all the problems danbooru/gelbooru have with slight spelling/spacing variations in tagging.

People will always bitch about something. I simply mentioned it as a way to control the tags. I don't want 100,000 dumb ass tags with minor spelling differences.

Predetermined set of tags (like TMS said) sounds like the best way. It is easier to handle, and like FPoD said their won't be the problem of a thousand different tags.

Surely one of the huge advantages of a tag system would be in collating the fetish needles in the Fakku haystack; how can you do that with a closed and pre-determined system? One of the great things about Gelbooru, for instance, is that you can find tagged elements of a hot pic which are otherwise innocuous, and then explore them as a bona fide fetish.
The spelling variations seem like a minor qualm to me. I don't really see the problem with letting people tag stuff themselves.

How about this:
-The system goes on-line with a pre-approved list of tags.
-New tags have to be approved by admins/moderators.
Two new tables will have to be added to the current database.
One tracks what tags there are, the other is about giving tags to various manga through their ID.
