If you think someone is breaking the rules in a post, it's simple, report the post. A moderator will read it and take action if necessary. We get quite a bit of reports about things that are not actually breaking the rules, we ignore those reports.
It has always been my goal to have the forums run with as little moderation as possible. I believe moderators should only step in when something or someone has a negative affect on the community, not when something fails to have a positive affect. I have seen what happens to most forums when they become a circle jerk of moderators and admins doing whatever they please unrestrained, and I will make sure we never reach that point. Therefore moderators here only exercise their powers when the situation calls for it. This view has not always worked perfectly, but it has done a very good job up until now. I never want a moderator to stop being a user of FAKKU first and foremost.
Everything a moderator or administrator does is logged, whether it be: deleting a post, deleting a topic, moving a topic, editing a post, or banning a user. Nothing is ever deleted, only moved or hidden. If you think a moderator is somehow abusing their power all you have to do is bring it to my attention. I am quite easy to get in contact with.
That said I choose my moderators and admins very carefully. Not to sound lame but I want warriors who will fight hard for me if the situation arises. I need to be able to trust them 100% to both have my back and do what they think is best for FAKKU. My time for moderating is limited but I assure you that I am always watching over things from a distance. I may not always agree with every single action another moderator or administrator makes, but I'm OK with that. This is not a tyranny and I like having different opinions. There are very good reasons why I asked each staff member to join the staff.
If someone is moderator of a particular forum it is because I feel they embody the "character" of that forum. Same goes for global moderators but on a larger scale. I only look for specific forum moderators when a particular forum hits a certain activity level and becomes too active for global moderators to handle alone.
Additionally there is no "time limit" on how long a user has to be on the site before I consider them for a staff position. Nikon and Raze both got their jobs after a few months of being members here, Raze probably sooner than that. And the FAKKU staff list is always updated. Most recently TheDarkStarAlchemist has joined our ranks as moderator of the Requests forum. So to think I am not paying attention to things and not choosing new moderators is false, I simply don't see the need for more at the moment.

Spoiler:
I'm not trying to suck up and stuff... But I think you did a very nice job choosing your Mods. However, I think some users of Fakku deserve a title that has more "value" than Fakku Elder. I think most of us can agree that HentaiElder is very intellectual with his understanding and wise words, and lazyasschillypepper is just like a human dictionary of Hentai manga/games/movies. No offence to any mods, but they helped me more than some Mods of FAKKU.

After reading through this thread, my main concern is that the level of trust between the general community and that of the various moderators have fallen, which I think is unhealthy. For Fakku to thrive, communication and trust is two of the most important factors.
Personally, I would like to think that all the staff members are doing their jobs properly. However, we should also be more open with our actions. Although an auto PM system is already in place, it lacks that personal touch. Back in those days where I could log on daily for hours, I will usually write to a user explaining why his/her thread got moved, deleted, locked, etc. I admit it is tedious and I wasn't able to do so for every action I took, but at least the general user can understand why we did so. Maybe such a trend can be encouraged among the staff, not only for the person whose thread or post got affected; even the user who made a report, especially in the event where we choose not to do anything about the report.
Nonetheless, the general community has the right to complain about the Moderators too, especially if they believe that they are abusing their authority. Past contributions may count for nothing if the Moderator or Admin has done a great wrong. Imagine a day where Gambler suddenly logs on and started insulting various users in crude language or deleting posts for fun... no one will want myself to remain on the staff team.
Unfortunately, I have to cut my post short since I need to head to work. In summary, we need to rebuild the level of trust and also increase communication.
