[suggestion]Subsection for IB games

LACP, why make a public thread if you are not ready to listen to other's opinions?

I also think part of the problem is defining what's IB and what's Random. We get plenty of garbage/nonsense/personal/video threads in IB that make up the bulk of IB. While I'm sure we can all press the page 2 or 3 link, it would serve the forum a better sense of coherency by having all game threads into one subsection.

But the reason IB was made was exactly for these types of thread; your reasons are simply laziness.

I don't know exactly how many of these games there are in total, but there are quite a few in numbers. I just think it'd make IB a little more organized.

You're acting like a child who hasn't gotten his way, LACP. Simply dismissing his opinion because it didn't follow the format you would have liked simply makes your point less valid in the viewers' eyes.

No. Where in the world do you factor laziness into forum coherency? By virtue of sheer volume of discussion and battle threads, your GARfest garnered its own subsection, then subsequently deleted from the public page but still available. These game threads have been here for a long time, and since they always command the first page or two, it would make more sense to group those threads into one subsection. But insofar as actual volume, I agree they do not number anywhere near GARfest, but they do number more than the 11 threads LACP mentioned. It's a matter of forum facilitation, not lazyiness in my argument.

Your and Waar's post explained that this is basically an idea for lazy people. There's not much else I can say except for the fact that I believe it'd make things more organized in IB.

I agree with lazy that we should have a sub-section for IB games.

That would make it more organized and it would be easier to find a specific IB game.

But what everyone seems to be ignoring (specifically gmoney this time) is that IB isn't coherent, the point of the forum is to lack all coherency. It's the place where garbage or post count threads go. Game threads which are designed for no other reason than to entertain people for a short time are the exact reason IB exists. You can't complain they degrade quality when the section was created to lack all forms of quality.

Lacp, I can't imagine why you're still pressing TO because he said he was done with the thread and commented again. Does that make his point less valid? Stop ignoring what he's saying and picking on something that has nothing to do with the topic. It really invalidates things you've previously said.

The main point that everyone needs to remember is that IB was specifically designed for these threads. If it's really that hard to read 2 pages worth of thread titles to find something than you should avoid forums altogether, the internets are not for you.

I agree, but just because IB is a forum that lacks coherency doesn't meant it has to be a forum that is a scrambled mess. An incoherent forum and a disorganized forum aren't inclusive of each other. I do see your point though. It really isn't a big deal either way, but a suggestion is what it is. You pitch it to Jacob and everyone else and just go on with your lives. There is no point in fighting about it.

I'm all for cleaning up IB as it's basically a cluster-fuck of threads right now, any type of sorting will help out greatly.

After reading through the replies, there are a few points in which I agree with:

1) Incoherent Babbling is getting a little cluttered or messy.

2) There are lots of similar threads along the same lines.

However, if we were to create a sub-section for IB games, does that mean we should create a sub-section for other threads falling under a particular genre, such as videos, waifus, etc? At the end of the day, IB may have too many sub-sections for one's liking.

More brainstorming is required on how to organize these threads, which I believe may apply to the random section too.

I believe LACP already explained why this subsection should only apply for the IB games.

And I absolutely agree with him.

I only fear that creating this sub section for IB games will only motivate people to make more and more of these.

Won't they? It's because its a section for IB games pretty much a lot will pop up, even I might be doing one in the section too. Now that I think about it won't the waifu game also be put in the section if the subsection for game is implemented?

Personally I don't think they bother me that much unlessthe first page of IB consist only of this kind of thread then something really needs to be done.

@Gambler: As far as other users and I can see, only two sections come to mind, and that is "IB games" and "Videos". The other stuff is ignorable.

As I said before all for Cleaning it up so a section for Games and Videos sounds good. As for the Waifu game I say that it should get it's own section., but if no to that it should stay in IB because that is where people remember it and we don't want any confusion.

Too many IB games crowding up the place. Right now on the first page of IB, there are only two topics that arn't a game or a chatbox thread.

I don't usually visit IB, but I looked at it just now, and I can't tell what is what. There are so many games that it's hard to know what is and isn't a game. If a person wants to visit IB for something other than those games, they might give up before they even start.

A separate section for games would probably be a good idea. After all, if there were a million topics about comic books in Entertainment, wouldn't a new section just for comic books be added?

@ShaggyJebus: exactly my point, without the million but try 10-20 threads that always make their way to the first page somehow, someway.

I think a large part of the problem is the fact that those threads will always make it to the first page. People like to play those silly little games; that is never going to change. It's practically worthless to post anything that isn't a game in IB because it'll just get bumped down, and eventually off the first page, within hours. Two people can keep a game thread at the top of IB for hours, just the two of them playing.
