Timezone problem

I currently live in central time zone (GMT -6), am running latest firefox and have profile set correctly to GMT-6 but all the times are 1 hour off. For example right now its 4:50, but the website will say I entered this in at 3:50. Only solution I have is to set my profile to GMT-5 to compensate.

It has something to do with the server time vs the sites time, I haven't been able to figure it out.

Could it be to do with BST, British Summer Time? See, Britain uses GMT (i.e. GMT 0) but for the summer months uses BST which means we put the clocks forward by one hour. So now it's 6:22 here but it's actually 5:22 GMT - and that's the time that FAKKU is telling me it is. So FAKKU is right for GMT but hasn't taken into account BST.
Edit
Actually, disregard that. FAKKU is actually telling me it's 4:22, so I'm actually off by two hours thanks to this glitch and BST.
Edit 2
Well for some reason FAKKU was set to GMT-1 before but now I've set it to GMT+1, it's fine. The thing is, that is the timezone I'm currently in because BST = GMT+1.
