I recently tried to use a MU link, but when I clicked the "Download File" button, a pop-up appeared - which then tried to install malware onto my computer. Luckily, my scanner got it - because some goof set my No-script to "allow scripts globally".
This is the second time they've pulled this stunt, first it was xnoe, now this. So when downloading from MU, remember to turn off ALL pop-ups with an add-on like Yes Popups - since some popups can bypass the default Firefox filter using flash. Alternatively, right clink the "Download File" button and choose "Save link/target as".
Oh right, the suggestion. If possible could we get a semi-safer upload site like sharing matrix or depositfiles instead? It will be slower, but we won't have to worry about nonsense like this happening.

Pretty sure it's been debated a thousand times already, but Mediafire is ultimately superior, it's just annoying to split archives etc. to meet its size limits. I've had no problems with Megaupload aside from it occasionally being incredibly slow.
