What is with "View unanswered Post"

From what I remember, someone told me that it lost its function after some time. Apparently it's not that huge an issue, so they haven't fixed or brought it back up.

While we're on the topic of Unanswered posts (I'm hoping a mod or Jacob might read this), what's the deal with replying to old threads that are unanswered? Is it fine or worthy of whatever penalty? I've seen decent threads back when the function was working that had no replies. I often wanted to reply to them, seeing how the threads had potential, but I didn't really want to bump/necrobump them (especially the older ones).

I can see where you are going HentaIElder. Even I have some threads I want to respond to , especially the music ones that are like months old, but like you I don't want to necrobump them and get commented for doing so..

I'm not sure of this sites specific rules about it, but my understanding of the concept of necrobumping is as follows;
it's not necro if you add something original.
it is necro if you just say crap like 'i agree', or '^this'.

It's good to have someone agree, lelouch. And earl, I think you're pretty much along the right lines in what makes it a necro/not okay v. what doesn't/makes it okay. I've just never been too much of a risk taker and figured I'd have a mod answer. That seems about right though.
