Forgive me for my ignorance, but im new here.
So could anyone tell me why its never been fixed. The Nosebleed is great and all, but i liked how organized the image section was.

It's low priority currently, as there are a slew of other problems regarding forum features and uploading issues.
And it's not like it was broken, it was taken down in the first place because FAKKU! couldn't handle the server load at that time.

The image section was an integration of Shimmie2 with phpBB2. While it worked well, Shimmie2 wasn't designed well enough to cope with the extreme amounts of load that Fakku demands. Putting it back up would mean doing one of two things --
1. Going through Shimmie2's codebase, gutting out some of the stupid slow bits and adding some pretty aggressive caching.
2. Writing our own Danbooru-style image system from scratch.
While I think that bringing the image section back up is still on Jacob's to-do list, there are currently much more pressing issues to handle ;_;

Nosebleed is good, but there are two big problems I have with it. One, it's hard to search for stuff in there; if you find a thread about stuff you like, there may be a ton of stuff, but having to search for a thread like that can take a while. And two, a lot of pictures on one page really slows down my computer, even making it impossible to look at the pictures.
This is probably a really stupid idea, but what about using a different site for something like the image section. On photobucket, I can make different folders with different pictures in them, and I can add tags that make it easy to search for pictures with certain things in them. I don't know if an image-hosting site with those features that allows adult content exists, but if it does, Jacob (or someone else) could set up an account and upload pictures there. Folders could be made to split the images into certain groups (like, each series has its own folder, like one for Naruto and one for Bleach), and tags could be used to define what show the picture is from, who the character is, and what's going on in the picture.
This wouldn't be perfect, as it would take a long time to upload all the pictures, and users couldn't add their own, but I'm throwing the idea out there as a jumping-off point.
