so the programs only, huh? no worries then, if I could get virtually anything besides the games it's already fucking IMBA

that would be great, and I think at least it would be included in the computers..maybe~

No SO, so sadly not even a need to use points there. The 18 year old is definitely tempting, but lack of points hurts even more here. No pregnancy is a bit of a deal-breaker as well.Lui wants to be a daddy right away, lol

And I guess you can play solitaire. If you get the video games and they don't require internet, you can play those as well. But no internet unless you spend the points.

Not necessarily right away, but would still be nice to have the option open, especially if we'll be there for 10 years.

I think it would be morally wrong to lock up a child for a potential 9 years in a basement with only its parents to interact with. As an adult over 18, you can choose to do that to yourself, but I am very much against doing that to a newborn child.

True, that could be a problem. Didn't quite think of that.

I don't play MMO so that's fine too.
let's just say I don't have the games, softwares and TV Shows, so that means I have to buy it from outside source then...like through phone and mail order or something. Did we have a set number of initial money outside the facilities chosen or provided? Or can we do some work of some sort inside the basement in order for us to gain money or so?

I don't think I fully understand your question. What do you mean you don't choose them so you have to buy them? You mean you don't choose to spend the points on those? Or you mean you don't pick the ones you think you would want?
The idea is that if you chose video games, that would give you access to all video games that ever existed and ever will exist. So that eroge dating sim that comes out in 2 years that you really want? You get that too.

ah I see, I'm kinda surprised that the computers doesn't get outfitted like all of the softwares outside of Music, TV Shows, and Games...like the programming, 3D rendering, and else...

I am not sure of all the details and what would be examined exactly, but raising a child who will grow up with out interaction other than their parents and only seeing the outside world through Television/Radio/Video games/Internet (depending on what else is provided) could provide a lot of information on how such forms of interaction affect a child. Could be the one true way to gauge whether video games really do affect a child as much as others believe.

Hmm, I personally think this needs to change. A 5 point difference is too much; a significant other will have sex with you and will have a personality to boot. They should be worth more than the 18 year-old. With that option being there, what's the point of an 18-year old option? Just imagine that you do have an SO and you'd be stupid to pick anything but it.
Not everyone has a significant other and I'm not bumming my best friend.

Yeah, I missed the past two pages and posted that before I read through it.
I'm only half loner. I'll be full-on loner once my pals all graduate and bolly on off back to whichever places they come from.

If you're imagining, only for the sake of the game, that you have a best friend or SO that you don't actually have, then you're playing the game in a way that I'm not intending you to play.
But lets say, for fun's sake, that you can just make up whatever situations you want for the sake of the game, since according to Sam, in an imaginative scenario, ALL elements are free to be imaginary. Maybe you already have millions of dollars, so you have no problem with taking $0 for 40 points. Oh, but you're rich, so you can buy all this stuff anyway. And you probably can just imagine yourself not being forced to stay in the basement at all so you can just roll around in your rooms of money with abandon.
Or maybe you can make up endless scenarios of whatever conditions you want. Maybe you have some horrible disease, so you're forced to spend the points on the doctor, which keeps you from being able to afford the 18 y/o. Maybe you imagine yourself as an asexual, so you don't need companionship that includes sex. Maybe you imagine that, even though you never workout now, you'll suddenly be super into working out, so you spend points on the gym that you hope you'll use.
Maybe you can imagine yourself as an alien that doesn't need food to survive, only water, so you don't have to spend any points on food!
There are a million different scenarios if you just "make up" whatever, instead of just playing true-to-life, as is.
And if that's how you choose to play, then go right ahead. But for the purposes of me posting this game, I am assuming you are accepting the terms of the game and then applying them to your life as is, not your life as you wish.
Now STAHP.

[align=justify][color=green][font=verdana]Reductio ad absurdum... surely you know me by now to know that I don't care for it.
My comments were well within the rules of the game, possibility, and positivity - not the scenario as a whole. An alien? No, of course not. Having a horrible disease? That's detrimental to my choices in the game, so why would anyone choose to imagine it?
You knew exactly what I meant, so don't extrapolate beyond my argument's main point.

[color=#f660ab]All I see you saying is "Anyone can just imagine an SO and get them for cheap." Even though I tried to explain that not everyone has an SO, forcing them to make other choices, you said "They can just imagine one for the sake of the imaginary game". Meaning anyone can imagine anything for the sake of an imaginary game. Or did you mean that's the only thing they are allowed to imagine? If so, why set that one limitation?
With my examples, I'm just showing you the can of worms you open if you start saying people can just imagine whatever they want because the game is an imaginary scenario.
